Sleepy Bear Cabin is a tranquil mountain cabin vacation rental....Are you here for a wedding, guys golfing trip, girls shopping weekend, or just need to unwind? Then there's no better place than Sleepy Bear Cabin.
Located minutes from downtown Highlands or Cashiers, the cabin offers a bright, open, and comfortable space with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The large main level Master bedroom offers a King bed and private bathroom, as well as access to a small deck. The Main level guest room has a Queen bed and access to the front porch. A large loft sits upstairs with a Twin bed, next to a third private bedroom with Queen bed and private bath. All bedrooms + the loft have TVs.

Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Relax in front of the wood burning fireplace. Enjoy the expanded living and dining space on the newly renovated screened in porch with views of Shortoff Mountain. Large gas grill. Whole house generator just in case....never worry about a thing at Sleepy Bear Cabin!

[All of the homes managed by Highlands Vacation Rentals have wifi internet access(speeds may vary based on different providers), basic kitchenware & dishes, linens provided, and a starter set of amenities including: 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom + A set of personal shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap (also per bathroom), 2 paper towel rolls, a few kitchen trash bags, a kitchen sponge, some dish soap and a couple of dishwasher and laundry detergent pods. ]

CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy (effective for bookings confirmed after April 1, 2024) is outlined below:
For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. If reservation is cancelled more than 45 days prior to arrival, guest shall receive a refund of all payments made* less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total cost of the reservation AND the cost of any trip insurance if purchased.
*Refunds do not include third-party service fees as those are determined by the booking site and we do not control how those funds are processed.
For any reservations that are more than 21 days, No refund will be given unless the property is re-rented over the previously booked dates.
You may purchase Travel insurance to cover your trip for cancellations. Contact Highlands Vacation Rentals for details.

We love Sleepy Bear cabin! This is our second time staying here. The home is very clean, has an open floor plan and is located right between Cashiers and Highlands. When we visit our son and his family this is our favorite place to stay!

Lori and David do a great job managing this property and are very nice an easy to work with. It is located 10-15 minutes to highlands, or cashiers. We will be back. The place is very clean and the neighborhood is amazing.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Sleepy Bear cottage. The home was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Nice updates in the kitchen and bathrooms and I loved the Bear/Mountain themed decor. Highlands Vacation Rentals was easy to work with and had easy plan when we were running late ( you do have to pick up the house key at their office in Highlands). The home is in a nice neighborhood with easy access to all activities and sites in the Highlands/Cashiers area.

The cabin was easy to find given the rural nature of the mountain. We were attending a wedding at a local venue and the cabin was perfect for our needs. Well appointed and the management company was very quick to address the minor issues we had upon arrival.

Pros: Well equipped kitchen, nice furnishings & bathrooms, clean floors. Cons: No view, one set of sliding glass doors-didn't have handle or lock. This was not safe, even if you are told that it is in a low crime area. A safety block from hardware store was installed late next morning. King mattress in lower bedroom needs to be replaced. Four of the windows were unlocked. Thermostat should not be preset with Wifi while guest are in home. Many aggressive drivers in the area. We still enjoyed our 30th anniversary celebration even with these issues.

There were six women who were doing bucket list items. There were enough beds for all of us and three baths so only two people each sharing a bath. The property manager was very accommodating. Everything we needed was there. We just brought groceries! Only one suggestion. A light is needed overhead in the living room. Not enough light there to play games or do a puzzle.
