Breathtaking Views, Canyon Ferry Lakefront!

  • Relax and unwind at this gorgeous lakefront home. Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Helena, Heron House is the perfect getaway for couples and families. Nestled amongst the boulders on the west shore of the lake, the house and deck offer breathtaking views, peace and tranquillity. The home was completely remodeled in 2016 offering all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. A secluded bay with large dock awaits for boating, swimming, fishing or kayaking. Recreational activities abound; paddle to Cemetery Island for a picnic and geocaching or Orchard Beach for swimming and catching minnows, catch a fish and barbeque it for dinner, relax on the deck with a good book and a cup of coffee or take a nap in the hammock. Horseriding, hiking, world class mountain biking all close by. Several great restaurants, cafes, microbrew pubs, museums, galleries and great local farmers market available in Helena. For children don't miss Exploration Works museum, the Great Northern Carousel or a traditional wagon ride dinner at the Last Chance Ranch. Canyon Ferry Lake is conveniently located between both Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. Property is a fabulous place for children over age 4 to explore but not really suitable for toddlers.

Labor Day

Lovely Stay on Canyon Ferry

The house is wonderful and had everything we needed for a long weekend. Outdoor area is beautiful and the water toys were particularly fun! Hosts were VERY easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful location for get away

Stayed for 5 nights, great set up for having 2 families enjoy a vacation together. Really enjoyed the deck overlooking the lake and being able to use the kayaks to explore the area. The house had everything we needed, appreciated the well stocked kitchen and use of the outside grill. Highly recommend!

Beautiful house and awesome view

The house was very clean and had all the basic necessities such as coffee pot and pots and pans etc. The view of the lake is perfect and so relaxing. Lots of lake toys to choose from and a place to dock your own boat. The family enjoys it every time we come and can’t wait to come back again.

Beautiful Mountain Escape

An absolutely beautiful place to relax. The home is well described, but the views must be experienced! The home was well prepared for our stay and owners are great to work with. The drive from Helena is simple. The lake sunrise was amazing with birdsong and we enjoyed walking to several parks and beaches nearby.

Incredible Canyon Ferry home

Awesome place directly on the water, with amazing deck overlooking the water. And functionable dock to pull up your boat (we had a rental from marina across the lake). Very clean and comfortable place --kids loved the upstairs kids bedrooms. and adults very happy to sit outside and enjoy the nature and views. Owners were super -- loved the stay.

Wonderful waterfront property with everything you need from your own dock, kayaks and amazing views. House was perfect for our family. Liz was amazing to communicate with and we will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to MT. Only Con was driveway was a little tricky to try and navigate a boat trailer to get in and out when neighbors were at the house next door with their vehicles parked on shared driveway.

Great family lake house getaway

Beautiful view with great amenities. The kitchen cupboards are fully stocked. Fridge is kept bare, but frosted glasses in the freezer was a nice touch. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The kids enjoyed the loft play area. Would stay again!

Great vacation!

Nice house. Thought it seemed small at first but we had good room for five adults and three toddlers. Great deck out on the rock. House was good for meals and after dinner relaxing. Boat dock and separate rock area at the water were both nice after getting accustomed to the access trail. Will stay again!

Lovely place!

We stayed 3 nights with 4 adults and 4 kids. The house was just the right size and had everything we needed for cooking and hanging out. The kids loved the kayaks and the dock and the rocks for swimming. Adults spent most of the time on the upper deck -- amazing views. The house was cleaned and well-stocked and communication with owners was smooth.

Great find!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay! The home is spacious and comfy. The views are spectacular. Our family kayaked to the island and enjoyed the second plank to sit on the rocks too. The deck is better than the pictures! The hikes near York were our favorite. We would definitely recommend and/or return!

Perfect lake property!

Loved are stay! All around great property! Loved the deck to hang out on. Boat dock with kayaks. The bathrooms were all updated. A/C in every room. We loved it! Great setup. Just put on your bug spray if your outside in the summer!

Perfect Family Vacation!

We brought our adult children with us on a 25th Anniversary trip and everything was perfect! We played in the lake, caught some really nice trout, ate yummy food, watched movies, read books, did half a puzzle and slept in. It was wonderful! The house is exactly as described and the communication with the owners was great! Thank you for the memories!!!

Lake Escape

Communication could not have been better, all my questions were answered before I made the reservation, during our trip planning and at time of arrival. The home is as described and offered a perfect weekend escape for my family. We especially loved the deck as it felt like we were high in the trees overlooking the lake and boating activity. Although there are nearby neighbors privacy was not an issue. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

With the pictures of the property we were expecting great things. If possible, the pictures don't do the property justice. We spent way more time on the site than expected somewhat because we figured we wouldn't see anything more beautiful than what we were seeing from the deck. Kitchen is well stocked and many nice touches throughout the home. Highly recommend.
