Beautiful lodge with incredibly hospitable staff

We were looking to spend 2 days in Dahlonega, and didn’t have much of an idea of what our trip would entail besides visiting the wineries recommended our friends. Last minute, I booked our stay at the Mountain Top Lodge without knowing a whole lot about its accommodations. We could not have had a more positive experience. While on our way from Atlanta, we called the Lodge and Paul (owner) answered the phone. He told us all about the different vineyards, what options we had (since we were arriving close to 5 PM on a Saturday, which is when a lot of them close for the evening), and gave us several recommendations. We decided to stop at a winery on our way in, rather than heading directly to the Lodge first. Paul’s hospitality and genuineness were put on display before we even arrived, as he called me to make sure that we hadn’t gotten lost on our way, since it had been over an hour since our prior conversation. Upon our arrival, Paul greeted us, showed us the amenities that they offer, and then showed us to our room. The room was beautifully decorated — classic with a mountain-like, elegant feel. Late in the evening (~11 PM), we had locked ourselves out of our room, & Paul gladly assisted us once more without any hesitation or frustration whatsoever. The next morning, Paul cooked us a wonderful breakfast and we spent a while talking about our backgrounds, interests, etc. He truly makes an effort to get to know his guests. I recommend this property unequivocally.

The Mountain Top Lodge is a quaint, rustic B&B very convenient to the town of Dahlonega. The inn keeper greeted us upon arrival and was helpful in directing us to restaurants and other local interests. He prepared a delicious breakfast which was served promptly at 9:00 AM. We found the accommodations at The Mountain Top Lodge were clean and comfortable, and the view from our room was beautiful. If we are in Dahlonega again, we will stay there.

Fairly close to town--quiet and isolated! Enjoy!!!

When I was unexpectedly delayed, I called in early and they arranged to open the office for check-in when I got there. They called later and talked me into their location, and quickly checked me in. Though not far from Dahlonega, it is at the top of a ridge with a narrow road (pitch black at night!) and with spotty or no cell reception down in the "holler". Fine reception on top of the ridge! Enjoyed my stay! Dahlonega is a mini Gatlinburg!

Enjoyable stay

The B&B was off the beaten path and quiet. It was an old home and dated but very clean. The owner was friendly. The room was plenty big enough. Breakfast was OK and service was good. It close enough to plenty of hiking or downtown Dahlonega. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely location, friendly people!

My husband and i were celebrating our anniversary early and didn't have a lot od time to plan. We didn't want to stay in a hotel so looked for something a bit different. Mountain Top Lodge is in a lovely and convenient location near to Dahlonega. Paul greeted us and we had a fun conversation at check-in. He asked our plans, and i told him we were going to North Georgia Zoo for a Sunset Tour. He gave us directions to the zoo as well as recommendations for restaurants that would be open late after our tour. At breakfast the next morning, we were again greeted by Paul and his wife and served a wonderful breakfast. Neither of us drink coffee, and they were accomodating of our requests (nothing too crazy). Check out was easy. The Lodge is at the top of a mountain up a windy road, nice and quiet. Everything was beautifully appointed and comfortable and felt like a nice home to come to after a day in the mountains, albeit a much cleaner home. Highly recommend this B&B!

We travel a LOT but this was our first B&B. Very secluded area, beautiful and tons of nature. Minutes from historic downtown area. Excellent customer service, beautiful cabins and everything was so clean and efficiently run! We had such a great time that we already booked for our next trip! If you want to step back in time and escape the noise, this place is just right!

Quite and rustic.

A very quiet and rustic lodge. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms. Next time we visit we will be more selective. We saw several deer every day of our 3 day weekend.

Nice and quiet

Very friendly staff. The room is clean. The place is quiet and nice. Breakfast was delicious. Can’t adjust air conditioning but the temperature was just fine. A 10 minute drive from the town where all the restaurants are. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the TV and the WIFI signal was weak. But aren’t those you want to run away from during a weekend escape?

The atmosphere, as well as the decor was very peaceful and inviting. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Manager/owner was pleasant and made the stay enjoyable. If back in that area again I would definitely stay there.

We liked how friendly everyone was. They gave us some tips on where to go for dinner and were helpful in every way we needed. The place is quiet, clean, and relaxing to be in. Breakfast was great and hit the spot. We will come again.

Great for a secluded stay. The drive up to the lodge is a little nervewracking if you aren't used to Mountain roads, but well worth it. The lodge is comfortable and clean and only a few minutes drive from downtown.

Liked everything. It was secluded but close to quite a few entertaining areas. There were outdoor things to do nearby as well as some nice quaint shops and restaurants. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay. I would recommend it highly to anyone! Breakfast was awesome as well!

Bummy’s Mtn. Review

This B&B is supercalifragilistic. Clean, quiet, and friendly knowledgeable owner. The beds and rooms are comfortable. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful. If you are looking for a safe, clean and quiet retreat; this is your answer. Activities and access to town for restaurants are ideal.

Quick Georgia trip

Paul is an excellent host. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The road to the inn is narrow, but easily navigated. I have already recommend staying here to family members. Very well marked turns from the road. The couple of nights we were there were quiet and relaxing. Very close to many different dining options and other entertainment options including University of North Georgia, I believe it's called.
