Cabin on the River - In town on the Chattahoochee River

This split level holiday home is perfect for families with plans to spend most of their time in the river or at the water park. Located behind the Cool River Tubing Water Park and within walking distance to downtown Helen! The light fills this home through the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Sit on the back deck and listen to the water flow by. Cook up a dinner on the gas grill, we provide the propane!

Cuddle up on the leather furniture and enjoy the flat screen television in the living room with free WiFi connection. The television is streaming where you can find free channels to watch or sign into your own accounts. (Just don't forget to sign out when you check-out!) The kitchen and living room are open to each other, leaving plenty of room for entertaining while cooking and making snacks during movie night! Turn up the gas logs for a cozy evening with the warmth and glow of a fire.

On the main floor is the Stars and Stripes Queen bedroom, decorated and representing all that is the american flag. This room has it's very own streaming television. The Stars and Stripes bath is just across the hall with a walk-in shower. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a queen size bed, retro vanity and full length mirror. This bedroom also has its very own streaming television, too. The master bath has a jetted garden tub, ready to soothe away your troubles.

• Minimum Age Requirement: Cabin on the River is available to families or to guests 21 years and older.
• Parking: Space is available for 4 vehicles.
• Access: The roads and driveway are paved. The property is on stilts and there are 20+ steps from the parking area up to the front door.
• Pets: Cabin on the River is Not pet-friendly. No pets allowed.
• Location: The property is located directly behind the Water Park in downtown Helen on the Chattahoochee River.

Great time!

Lovely weekend! Great location but Could have been a bit cleaner and had a more stocked kitchen. Not enough pillows and a matress pad would help.

Memorial Day weekend

A beautiful cabin right on the river. The only drawback was the steps going up and down, but we managed.Too bad the weather wasn't warm enough to get in the river. Enjoyed watching the ducks and geese. Also response was quick on a few minor things I had to call the office for. Also thank you for the cleaning crew turning in my necklace and Georgia Mountain Rental contacting me about it. God Bless you!

A Short Stay in Helen

Very clean, great response from management. Hal was very good so was Tim. Wrong key code. Porch and steps were in need of repair. Kitchen appliances need upgrade also the couch and love seat. No where to eat for 5 people, no dinning room table. Could be a fold down in replace of bench. No rinse capability in the upstairs bathtub. Would not want to be there in summertime with waterslides right across the river. No firepit. No outside area by river. Neighbors too close!

Great place!

My daughters and I stayed here for a long weekend and loved it! The cabin is beautiful and the location is great, both quiet and close to everything. If you’re a book lover, I highly recommend visiting Mt. Yonah book exchange. The owner is amazing. We also enjoyed the safari drive through.

Great location!

Was a cute, cabin feeling with plenty of room. The only thing I wasn't aware of was the number of stairs we had to climb to get to the main floor....otherwise, it was a great place & a beautiful weekend!

Dual anniversary trip

Shared an anniversary get away with my sister and brother in law who have the same anniversary date as us! We had a great time visiting and catching up and seeing all the sights of Helen. Really enjoyed catching some local yard and estate sales and thrift stores in the area on Saturday! Would definitely stay again!

Spring Break Get-Away

My husband and I are teachers, and we just needed to relax. The cabin is cozy and right on the river. It is very close to town, and we even walked one time to get some exercise. I highly recommend staying here.

Girl Trip

My mom, daughter and I were planning our annual girl trip when mom suggested Helen. I immediately went to google to check it out and decided we had to visit. None of us had been. We all were so impressed with the little town. Everyone was so kind and friendly, the food…amazing but all of ours favorite thing to do was sit in our cabin drinking coffee, chatting and listening to the river. This cabin was perfect for the 3 of us. Just what we needed. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. KindlyBethany

Great location and river access

Gorgeous house in a good location, close to the town and to beautiful trails. I love that the river runs just a few yards away from the property. We will definitely comeback and recommend it to anybody.

Amazing family getaway

We are so much in love with this place! The location is just perfect, away from traffic and people but close enough to all the places to see. The river running in the back sounds relaxing and calming. The property management is responsive and willing to help. And the best part(especially traveling with a toddler) is the cleanliness of the house. We enjoyed every second spent in this beautiful home. Would definitely recommend and come stay again.

We arrived to discover the property had very high stairs and no ramp or elevator. We were a group of 4 and 3 could not do stairs. This handicap left us with a struggle. We could not get all our luggage upstairs and once finally up ourselves, we could not go in and out freely to see the sights. We were pretty much housebound. Ruined our vacation. Do not rent this property if you have a handicapped person who can't do very high stairs.

Dated, dusty and dangerous

This “cabin” is a 2 story vinyl sided house on concrete pillars with 2 bedrooms 2 baths (only 1 shower on the first floor). First issue was first floor toilet. My father in-law used it and it clogged up. We called the emergency number with a voice mail to “Jim”. No one ever responded. I had to plunge the toilet and clean up the over flow myself. The dated interior looks like it was decorated with hand me down furniture that’s been well used. Multiple dust covered plastic plants and other kotchkes were scattered everywhere. This place had not been dusted in a while. My wife was sneezing the entire 3 days we stayed here. Tried the gas logs in the fireplace but they would not stay lit. Tried the grill on the back deck but it would not light. The 1990’s era microwave would not heat up food properly. The upstairs bedroom had a well worn king size bed with an indentation on one side. The ceiling fan had one speed-high. My wife tried the jacuzzi tub and was doused with grit coming out of the jacuzzi pipes. The steps to gain entry are steep, well worn and have several treads with nails popping up and out. One wrong foot placement and someone could be easily injured. Porch railings are loose on the front and back decks. Cheap toilet paper and paper towels to top it off. This is the most disappointing VRBO/Georgia Mountain Rentals we have ever rented.

Nice location , private and close to town

Overall the property was nice , my only issue is that it could have been cleaner , food or trash in cushions , I had to sweep the floor , didn’t look like it had been swept or mopped. Mold on the outside chairs . Railing on porch was not very secure .I’m not one to complain really , but I feel the owner should know about the cleanliness and the railing really should be upgraded . Beds were nice and clean kitchen clean most everything else was nice .

Awesome stay

Great home away from home. We loved the access to the river and had fun being able to play each day in the water. The spot is a little busy with people fishing under the bridge, water park just across the river and other explorers. We enjoyed people watching during the evenings while sitting on the back porch. Location is secluded enough but was still very close to town and trails. This was our first time visiting Helen and we plan to come again and stay in another house with the same property managers. Pros: location and view. House had everything we needed except laundry detergent but we picked some up from a local store, no problem. Town was a short drive and the back way offered a way to avoid some minor traffic in the evening on the weekend. River tubing is just a short drive or walk away. Cons: ceiling fan in upstairs room is all or nothing. We found the lowest setting still way too fast / loud but definitely not a deal breaker. Cell signal is bad but the Wi-Fi worked great! Even with a preteen. The road to and from the house is very tight and sometimes was a little difficult but that happened in a few places in this area so again, wasn’t a deal breaker. We had the best time and will definitely be back.

Great Getaway

Beautiful location! Beautiful view! Would love to visit again! I only have a couple of suggestions and that would be that a table would be great and the thermostat able to be set lower than 69 degrees. Other than those two things it was great and a beautiful place!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My husband and another couple stayed here for a weekend getaway in Helen. The property was exactly as listed and had a wonderful, homey feel. We loved the Christmas decorations and the homemade ornaments you had as a souvenir. Very clean, great location! We will definitely stay here again.

Customer service was incredible

I have never had a rental unit before that had a management company so focused on customer service. From the instant I booked, throughout my stay they were constantly communicating with me to make sure everything was meeting my expectations. We had zero issues with the unit and I think that is because they were so customer focused. I also feel that the unit was much more than what I expected it to be when I arrived, we were extremely pleased with the accommodations.
