Cozy Log Home Close to Denali National Park, Activities, Services & Restaurants

Log home with three bedrooms with one bath on the main floor and one bedroom with private bath upstairs. The main floor features a large bedroom with a queen bed and two smaller bedrooms with one double bed each. The main floor has a full kitchen with a full range of utensils and dishwasher. Laundry washing machine and dryer are located in the house. There's also a large table for meals, two couches and a TV. WIFI is provided as is TV. The upstairs master bedroom has a king bed and an attached bath. There's also a loft with an air bed that is curtained for privacy. The loft has a desk and futon couch/bed, but the loft is open to the main room downstairs. Kitchen utensils are provided. Guest are welcome to prepare their own meals, but please clean up.
The property is about 13 miles or 20 minutes north of Denali National Parks entrance area, Visitor's Center and Wilderness Access Center. During the summer months there are a number of restaurants and food trucks near by. A full grocery with convenience store, sporting goods and hardware is located about 1 mile away. There are three service stations within 2 miles as well. While 2 night stays are generally required ‘single nights’ that appear between longer reservations will be booked, just ask.

Lots of room and good location.

The location was great for our Denali activities. There was lots of room for the 6 of us. The house was very clean, but needs some updates.

Mixed review - Alaskan Chateau

Jim's communication before and during the trip were excellent. The place was old and in disrepair. The flooring was not put in correctly and we stubbed our toes on the vinyl flooring a few times. The carpets were old and not clean. The closet on the main floor had doors that were unhinged and it was unfished to the floorboard. I have a hand-full of other things in mind (like the floor on the front deck with a large hole that was covered by a board, a screen door that doesn't fit the door, a TV that didn't work) but you get my point. Overall, it was clean enough (operative word would be "tolerable") but reminded me of staying in a college frat house. Had I known in advance, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere. In my opinion, it was not close to being worth the money we paid to stay there. To end on a positive, it was nice to have a working washing machine and dryer. Again, the owner Jim, was very nice and responded to all communication so I feel somewhat mixed for writing this review but it is an honest one.

Healy log cabin

It appears there has been a change of ownership since most of the reviews were given. The two issues we had with the puppy was that they were not blackout shades on all of the bedrooms, and there was no Wi-Fi, so there was no television or music available for our entire state. The outside was also not very appealing, and there was no view from any room of the beautiful surrounding mountains. It was relatively close to the bus depot where we took our tour.

Rustic vacation stay

Two couples 3 nights Rustic log chalet clean lots of room , many extras very quiet close to restaurants , gas , a general store and just 15 minutes to Denali NP visitor centre . Good spot for us — Great spot for family stay

Great proximity to Denali!

We enjoyed the proximity to Denali National Park and the charming town of Healy. We appreciated the courtesy samples of soap, Shampoo, etc as well as there being coffee and a well-stocked kitchen.

Great trip to Denali

Jim was a good host and we enjoyed our time in Denali Borough. Grocery and restaurants close. Got to see the mountain!! House needs a little updating but it was clean and worked well for our group of six.

Absolutely Amazing

Everything about this property was amazing! The views were great, we even saw a moose and two calves run by the cabin the the morning! My family loved staying here and we would come back again :)

A great place for a large group

We had a party of 8 adults. The property was one of 2 available for our dates. It had plenty of room and a well supplied kitchen. The rooms were well appointed with black out curtains. The only odd thing was the email I received day before arrival stating there would be fruit coffee milk and cereal at the house. Luckily we had supplies, but we found none of the listed items. Had we relied on that note we would have been very hungry.

Great location with the basics, don't expect frills

If you are looking for a place to house a lot of people near Denali, this may be your place. The house is clean but older so don't expect immaculate. The beds were comfortable but could use more bedding, there were no extra blankets in the house. My overall opinion of the place is adequate, thus my 3 stars. It has comfortable beds, a new kitchen and working bathrooms. Don't expect frills. It appears to be a work in progress. The bathroom upstairs (with King bed) was clean, but thrown together. The tub was old and the shower curtain only covered 1/4 of the tub so there was water all over the floor after you showered. But it worked and was adequate for what we needed. Checking out was super simple as nothing was required of us, so that was nice. I would stay here again if there were no other options, but I like frills.

Great for large groups

Four bedrooms plus a loft upstairs for the kids to play in. It was only a 10 min drive to Denali visitor center. Milk, juice, bananas, cereal, oatmeal, and coffee we're provided, so it was great for a quick breakfast and then head out for the day. Would definitely stay here again.

Jim's property was perfect for us, traveling with two families and young kids. You can't ask for a better location if you're exploring Denali. It's close to the shops and restaurants and all the activities we had planned for our stay. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. We highly recommend a stay here!

This is Denali, so more of your time will be spent outdoors . House is older but ok for purposes Property manager was responsive to requests for towels , bedding . Parking is convenient .

The perfect charming rustic feeling cabin for our party of 6

Our stay at the chateau B&B was a great fit for our visit to Denali. The cabin had everything we needed for breakfast and a comfortable night’s sleep. The check-in and out was seamless. We enjoyed the creature comforts of wi-if, a dishwasher, and the bbq. We definitely recommend a stay here.

Very Nice

We just stayed for a single night but it was great. The property is fairly close to Denali Nat'l Park but tucked away from the road. It was clean and well stocked. Our family of 5 adults had plenty of space to spread out and get a good night's sleep before we continued on our Alaskan trip. Thanks.

Roomy and comfortable

I was so pleased to find a home so close to events we wanted to do in Denali. We needed a unit with several bedrooms and bathrooms and this one fit the bill. We got there and it was that and more. There are 4 bedrooms plus a loft area for sleep. The kitchen is welcoming and there is a spacious dining area. The WiFi works smoothly and there were curtains in each room that helped with darkening for those of us not used to the "midnight sun". We were very appreciative of the keeper, Tom. He came out on Friday night when we arrived and were a bit confused about something. He was pleasant and helpful. I will certainly recommend this home for friends that might head towards the area. We are hoping to be able to return.
