"Our room was not as big as expected from the photos and we were overlooking a flat roof with extractor fans continuously on - not so great when we had to have the windows open in the heat and could not get the ac to work. "The hotel was really good for staying for a local under-14s football tournament. What was a bit frustrating was that we booked it to have access to the pool, which was advertised, only to discover it’s actually the university’s swimming pool. When we booked to go swimming on the Saturday, it was shut for maintenance (which I know the hotel can’t do anything about). The Sunday slot we booked was only lane swimming, as half the pool was taken up with swimming lessons and the other four lanes were...

"Everything I had expected. Nicely decorated, boutique style with lovely restaurant and well equipped rooms."

"Check in was no frills. We arrived half an hour before check in and was offered a room but for an extra fee. I accidentally booked the room for one person so had to pay an extra £12 for breakfast which was fair enough but on check out an additional £10 for the extra person which I thought was unfair."

"My only problem is the check in process, staff wasn’t professional, wasn’t friendly at the beginning but force a smile later on, not looking at guest when speaking to them , no greeting from staff to guests, no explaining the arrangements for breakfast. "Didn't have breakfast this time it was 4.30 not a lot to choose from not a continental also no one about as partner was gluton free and dairy. Previous stay was good as we had breakfast, gluton free and soya milk was there then after 6.00 lots to choose from."

"This was hands down the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and cheery. They made us feel at home and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The wait staff was exceptional as well. The food was excellent, the setting idyllic, and location walkable to The Chatsworth House! We could not wait to write a glowing review as we cannot recommend this hotel enough! We suggest you give your entire staff a raise as they were top notch and whoever hired them...
