The Getaway on Grindstone Lake

Enjoy a peaceful stay at this beautiful 1-bedroom cabin in Hayward. The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, ensuring a restful night's sleep for guests. The cabin also offers heating, WiFi, and AC, providing excellent comfort throughout your stay. Additionally, the living room has a sofa bed offering extra space for guests to sleep. You will love having direct access to the lake and watching sunset from the dock. Swimming is also fantastic here! Whether you're exploring the beautiful surroundings, shopping on nearby main street or simply enjoying the tranquility of the lake, it's easy to see why you'll love our cabin. “The Getaway” was once part of a resort but now each cabin is privately owned, which means there are some shared items including dock but there is tons of space and will have no shortage of privacy. Also newly renovated to include a washer and dryer for your convenience!

We had an amazing getaway at The Getaway on Grindstone Lake! The cabin was perfect for just the two of us—cozy, well-stocked, and with everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable, and the views of the lake right from the cabin were incredible.The host’s communication was fast and easy, which made the whole experience stress-free. The lake itself was absolutely perfect for swimming—clear water, a sandy bottom, and shallow enough to walk out quite a distance before it gradually deepened. The dock was a great setup with ladders for easy access, and we loved spending time there watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.We also appreciated the location—peaceful and tucked away in the woods, yet only about a 15-minute drive into downtown for anything we needed. It was so rejuvenating to have that balance of quiet nature and easy access to town.We were honestly sad to leave and are already planning to come back again. This was the perfect little getaway spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the lake. Highly recommend!

Our only complaint, if you want to call it that, was it wasnt near as secluded as we hoped it to be or as pictures made it look to be? ... beautiful area, beautiful home, very accommodating hosts!! We give the "Getaway" a 4.9!!

My Dad and I really enjoyed our stay on Grindstone Lake. We had decent luck fishing and caught several good sized smallmouth bass, even one that was 21 inches. Lots of fun and a beautiful lake. The cabin was clean and cozy and the host is very quick to respond and communicate when needed. The only thing I will mention is it is very close to several other cabins kind of in the middle of roughly 5-6 others. So if you’re looking for seclusion, this wouldn’t fit. If you’re not, it’s a great place to stay!

Jake’s cabin on Grindstone lake is the perfect spot for enjoying the Hayward area. Check-in and contact with the owners were top notch. The cabin itself is clean, up to date and perfect for two people. The lake is crystal clear, not really busy and great for fishing. Thanks!!!

Perfect cabin

The perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We come to town for the Birkie every year and this was a great spot for the family to recharge and unwind. Space was clean and well organized, hot was amazing and responsive from start to finish. We would definitely love to be back!
