"Tatsuno is a charming, former samurai town that is easily explored on foot. We were in the area to visit the Hijemi Castle, and were very happy to be in Tatsuno, away from the bustle of tourists.
The machiya is large, beautiful, elegant, and very comfortable...we could spread out and relax. We loved our short stay in the refurbished traditional home. "The location was easy to find and the self-checkin process was clearly communicated and accurate. The rooms were spacious. It was an easy walk from the station and to the castle.
We were told the front room might be noisy because it faces the shopping street, but it was quiet mid-week by 9:00 and stayed that way until well into the morning. The bedding was nice and we had the best sleeps of our whole trip.
