Uncover the Dales’ history with a visit to Castle Bolton (13 miles) before continuing on to the market town of Leyburn (17.5 miles), where more castles and waterfalls await. Further afield, the Lake District and the North Pennines can both be reached within 25 miles.

Sink into the sofas, fire up the wood burner, and find your favourite films on the Smart TV. A wooden dining table sits in one corner of the room, while a doorway leads through to the sleek kitchen, where you’ll find everything needed for cooking up holiday meals. Up the cottage stairs await two restful bedrooms: a double room and a flexible super-king-size bedroom that can convert to a twin room on request. Serving the bedrooms and completing the home is a bathroom with a bath, shower attachment and WC.
