"The property was conveniently located and the paid shuttle to and from the airport frequent. My experience checking in was less than pleasant. The female on duty was quite rude and certainly not inclined to assist when I asked two questions. If she enjoyed her job it certainly wasn’t evident. Perhaps some staff training might be in order."

"Whilst the staff and facilities were good, I was disappointed with the food. I had the coronation chicken terrine starter.which had a large piece of chicken skin in it. The staff offered me a replacement which I declined and they did not charmed for it. I later asked if I could have fresh fruit for dessert which the said would be available for breakfast. At breakfast the only fresh fruit available was watermelon. I may be picky but I feel that these minor items should be catered for."

"One of the most beautiful building and gardens. It felt like being at a national trust, not just a hotel because the grounds are so well thought out and looked after. Outfoor Pool area is gorgeous but some bits need a bit of an extra clean or facelift- the rim around the pool had gone green and some features looked slightly dated or cluttered. "The hotel was quite booked up, so we had 2 rooms over a 3-day weekend and our baggage was transferred with no fuss or problems. Both rooms were clean, roomy and contained everything we needed, including a much-needed fan as the weather headed for a heatwave! Breakfast was lovely (we had a full English). The staff and the manager, Peter, were very friendly and helpful and made sure we were feeling happy about our stay at all times. A very nice place to stay while we visited one of our sons who...

"I'm guessing the property was built in the late 70's, so looking a little dated in terms of decor, but very clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful, full English breakfast was of a good quality. Basement level standard twin room lacked air conditioning, (ground and 1st floor have aircon, I was informed by the receptionist on departure), but fan was more than adequate, which was essential as we were entering the heat-wave in early July 2026. Only downside was the hum from a generator room...
