Lush, tropical foliage and spacious grounds surround this delightful, beachfront home. It exemplifies the tranquillity for which Kauai's north shore has long been valued. Vaulted ceilings add a spacious feel to the large living area which offers fabulous ocean views. Amid gentle breezes, the lanai is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature's impressive panorama and spectacular sunsets.

Just steps from your door, the beautiful, white-sand beach invites leisure activities. Have a picnic, build a sand castle, stroll along the extensive coastline, watch for playful dolphins off shore or simply bask in the sun's warmth and experience total relaxation. Dine in the privacy of your vacation hideaway or take a scenic drive to neighboring Hanalei about ten minutes away.

There is a nice variety of restaurants and cafes here as well as small shops which welcome browsing. A five-minute drive beyond Hanalei brings you to Princeville for additional shops and eateries as well as two challenging golf courses ranked among the nation's very best.

Activities nearby include seasonal swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, hiking, sightseeing, flightseeing, shopping, tennis and golf.

Great location and house

We really enjoyed our stay. the house was much nicer than the photos, a pleasant surprise. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. it was light, bright, and comfortable. we love being able to walk to Tunnels. the rental company was very responsive and helpful.

OK, but a hotel would probably be a better value for price

The location is great. Until you realize this property description doesn't mention another rental property 25 feet away on the same lot that looks directly into your living area with no privacy wall or dilineation. In fact, property host goes so far as to manipulate the photographs to hide the property. Very Deceitful. Incredible that no other review exposes this fact. Found the property neglected (landscaping, dirty outdoor grilling equipment, cracked porcelain sinks, dangerous shower plate glass door, non-working entertainment gear, motion alert alarm present but nonfunctional), and when I did communicate with management they expected me to know the nickname of the house although I gave them the exact address and my name. They offered no resolution. Not very aloha, nor professional. The adjacent property not shown had a family of 5 staying with 3 screaming toddlers that got us up every morning at 5:30 a.m.. To add injury to insult we had a theft at the property while we were present. Found old barbequed meat in the Weber kettle outside. The gas BBQ was nauseatingly dirty and way past its prime. Do your homework people.

On the most beautiful beach

The listing pictures do not do this house justice. The beach beyond the house is right off the yard— you can watch sunsets looking west along the coast and walk to tunnels (30 min) along the beach. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful, and friendly. The house was incredibly well stocked (more so than any other Vrbo we’ve used), including beach chairs and a cooler. If I had to say anything negative it would be the lack of a full wall on the master and the 2nd bedroom was a little snug for our 11 and 13 year olds, but the listing pics are accurate. Thanks for an incredible stay!

The home was the perfect location to be out of the hustle bustle. Emersed in the beauty of the North shore the Ocean sounds caressed us to sleep in this open-air well-appointed beach bungalow.

Beachfront paradise

This was a beautiful house and the location was perfect! It’s right on the beach were you can snorkel over an awesome reef. There’s shopping 15 minutes up the road and a really good coffee joint right next to the property. I’d recommend this house if you’re planning ton visiting Kauai anytime soon. The only downside to our stay was that it was raining and cloudy the whole time so I could only imagine how beautiful it would be on a sunny day!

Loved our stay!

We could not have hoped for a better location to stay on Kauai! The home was comfortable, and the view was absolutely spectacular! We loved being just steps from the beach. We'll likely stay here again on our next trip.

Wonderful beachfront cottage

Great location on north shore beach within walking distance of Tunnels Beach along beachfront and resort dining four blocks away. Private, quiet location with great snorkeling entrance 100' to right. Calm waters are protected by offshore reef. House is old Hawaii style with ample kitchen, dining and living rooms. Cons: Master bedroom off living room has little privacy due to low adjoining wall. Second bedroom bath and shower are somewhat primitive. Enjoyed short walk from nice balcony to beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas in closet. Only three beach chairs were at house first day and another broke the first day, but Kauai Vacation Rentals replaced both chairs the next day....THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT SERVICE GLORIA!! Overall a great experience and will book again!

Great location in Paradise.

Overall good experience. Pros: great location on beachfront, private well maintained grounds, close to town and restaurants. Well stocked home with beach equipment and kitchen for cooking. Good communication by property manager. Would have been five stars except for Cons: 1) terrible, old squeaky mattress in master BR made for back pain and terrible sleep if sharing with a bedpartner. 2) only way to second BR was through kitchen then through bathroom/ laundry room that was not attractive and dingy looking and dark with no windows for ventilation . 3) You need to pick up and drop off keys at rental office or airport in Lihue. A bit inconvenient. They need to work out a better system such as a keybox at rental.

Heaven in Haena

North Shore Kauai is the quintessential Hawaii to us. This house is perfect for a stay on the jungly side of the island for two couples or a family of four. Private, quiet, and serene. Great snorkeling 50 yards down the beach. The grounds are beautiful and filled with bird song. The beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is well appointed. Many ceiling fans keep the temperature just right. We will definitely come again!

Great house on the beach off the main road

Off the main road, beach is rocky in parts but very pretty. At first was worried about lack of AC, but the house pretty consistently got good breezes. Beautiful area, can walk to tunnels beach.

Truly amazing!!

We come to Kauai often. We have already booked our next trip and will be staying right here again. The house sits on a beautiful private section of the beach. It is walking distance to the hotel and restaurant. It has everything you need for a perfect getaway. We disappeared for ten days. Have no idea where the time went, but know we are returning home relaxed. We are sad to leave, but excited to return. Much aloha, Mahalo

We knew it was beachfront but the photos didn't do justice to the location... back lanei view is straight to the ocean- great place for morning breakfast or cocktail ...or just walk 40 steps and be on the beach with sunrise views of Hanalei Bay to the right & sunset views off Tunnels to the left. They say you should head toTunnels - only 15 min beach walk ( or Kee) for great snorkeling ( correct) but just 75 yards to the right of your beach area is also great snorkeling ...esp on calmer days- teaming. The home was very comfortable &well equipped for house supplies and beach stuff (4 great beach chairs) and the concierge that comes with the Rental was very helpful. In summer months it can be a tad warm inside (no AC - that's why 4 stars v 5) but honestly, the ocean winds & ceiling and portable fans make it comfortable. 10 mins to Hanalei ... great authentic beach town 10 min drive to Kee ...great hiking & beaches Would definetly return
