The Hanalei, a spacious beach home with AC in the bedrooms is part of a duplex. A short stroll from the beach, granite counters, travertine floors, Hawaiian style furnishings, standard appliances, Weber BBQ & outdoor shower in your private back yard await you (Standard & Maximum Occupancy is 6). Relaxing and family-friendly floor plan, convenient to most the North Shore beaches.

A two minute stroll will bring you to Waioli Beach Park in the center of Hanalei Bay. A few blocks away lies the Hanalei town center with eclectic shops, beach toy rentals (masks, boards, kayaks and bicycles), market, fish store and excellent restaurants.

Its all in the neighborhood, and Hanalei is a great neighborhood with a fabulous bay, beautiful mountains, waterfalls and rainbows. These are the best rates in Hanalei for this quality and proximity to the bay.

With all the Hanalei has to offer, well maintained calming space so close to the bay & Hanalei town, this is a fabulous value for a larger group & multi-generational families.

There are three bedrooms; one king, one queen, 2 twins, and 3 full baths. A hot and cold outside shower for after the beach is a wonderful plus.

The State of Hawaii requires a rental agreement. The rental agreement has different cancellation policies than VRBO.

Please be aware that when you book this house or any accommodations by the ocean in Hawaii, not on a bluff, you are booking in a tsunami evacuation zone. Evacuation instructions will be in the house and notice of the tsunami evacuation zone will be part of your contract. Also please know that we cannot accommodate charging of electric vehicles at this property.

It was a terrible experience and I will never book with VRBO ever again. The island is closed down, our flights were canceled and the management company lacked any understanding, keeping all our money including cleaning fees. Completely disappointed and will never use VRBO or Beach Kauai Vacation Rentals ever again.

Great base for all north shore adventures

This rental was a great base for all of our north shore adventures. Pros:- Great location - walkable to the beach and everything in Hanalei- Very comfortable beds- Spacious- Large and well-outfitted kitchen- Washer/dryer in-unit- Outdoor shower, beach chairs, etc Cons:- Pretty dark inside, there are no central overhead lights in the main space- AC is only in bedrooms so warm/humid in the living room and kitchen- Not supposed to charge phones in bedrooms (we couldn't comply with this, one of us has a medical condition and needs a phone nearby as a monitor; we've never seen this request at a rental before)Overall, this was a great spot, good value, and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again on a future trip!

The Hanalei

We enjoyed our stay the home was nice but the main part of the house was very warm no a/c and no circulation. The couch that is shown in this picture is worn out. We were spending 12 dollars a day buying ice to feed the ice maker. It took almost 20 hrs to drop one slab of ice. Nothing really froze in the freezer. But the tv is a computer monitor inside the case that being said we all enjoyed our stay. Would I stay there again I am not sure. The rental company and all their personal where great and I would use them again.

Perfect location

This place is perfectly located. It's 1 block away from the west side of Hanalei Bay and an easy walking distance to all the shops in Hanalei. The view from the kitchen was breathtaking. The place was stocked with soap for toiletries. There was a bit of sand toys and pool noodles. We didn't see any boogie boards although I think other reviews mention them. Of note, air conditioning is only in the bedrooms but we were okay with opening the windows and using the available fans. We also loved all the spices and condiments available in the kitchen. It was a great base to all of our north shore adventures.

Amazing house in Hanalei - 5 min walk to the beach

The house was perfectly sized for my wife, her friend, and my grandpa. Suzanne is the perfect hostess. Check in was a breeze. House instructions and more in a binder in the kitchen. Common areas are huge. Loved the walkin shower in the master bath! Everything was very clean. And it a few mins drive into Hanalei which is the perfect little beach town!

Dirty with animals everywhere

Their cat bit my five year old. We didn’t have check in information when we needed it. Communication was conflicting and slow. House was messy. Dogs next doors constantly howling and barking. Cats kept coming in the house.

We were 6 adults, and the bedroom/bathroom set up was great. We also enjoyed the open floor plan and well stocked kitchen and BBQ. We made so many memories! Thank you.

Hanalei beach stay

The house is what we expected. The weather was hot and there was no breeze coming in the windows. Therefore, the house was warmer than we would have anticipated. The owner had many fans for the common areas. The bedrooms do have AC. I can’t blame the owner for the weather. If you are used to AC and do not tolerate the heat, then this may not be the home for you. The home is a short walk to the beach and shopping. We did enjoy our stay at this home. This side of the island does get more rain.

Hanelei beach house

2 blocks from gorgeous beach, walkable to town and good eats and Market. The six adults in our family never felt crowded as each couple had their own bathroom. Open concept living dining area for family time. Friendly House cat ( outside) keep us smiling. Kitchen well stocked if you felt like cooking. Outdoor shower was a big hit! We loved this home.

Stay at the Hanalei

We had a fantastic 2 week stay at The Hanalei. Perfect walkimg distance to the beach. 15 minute walk to downtown Hanalei which is nice, because you are away from the downtown crowd and noise. Great amenities. Beach chairs and beach towels could use an upgrade. It is dark inside and very hot so the fans were used. But, overall, we had an awesome stay.

Great location, plenty of space

I came with my husband, parents, and three kids (ages 2-9). There was plenty of room for the seven of us, and we were delighted with the proximity of the house to the beach. The outdoor shower and washer/dryer at the house made it easy to keep ourselves and our clothes and towels clean. The kitchen was easy to prepare meals in. It wasn’t prefect, but our complaints were so minor compared to the benefits of staying at this house. Overall, we were very happy with the space.

Great Location!

This may have been one of the cleanest most organized houses we have stayed in! Everything we needed for a great stay in Hanalei. Short walk to the beach and grocery store. Excellent communication with the host on all levels. We will be staying here again!

Our January stay at the Hanalei

We overall enjoyed our time as a family of 2 grandparents, 2 adults and a 5 year old. Just a couple of negative things - the bbq is not a stainless steel bbq as advertised. It is a Webber grill that needs briquets. We found an empty bag of briquets and lighter fluid in the outdoor closet, but when we asked about replacing them, were told they are not provided. We had already purchased meats for grilling so had to drive to purchase briquets. Would be nice to provide for the grill as they are needed to bbq! We also agree with previous reviews of the photos being extremely misleading…. It is very dark inside. So dark that we needed to take the lamp shades off to be able to read. Also, although the location is just 2 blocks from the beach, it is almost at the opposite end of the bay from the pier. As we were here in January, the water was not swimmable where we were and had to drive to the pier area in order to go in the water. We walked with all our beach stuff one day just to play in the sand with our 5 year old, and the life guards actually asked us to leave, even when we said we weren’t going to go in the water. He told us it’s just too dangerous with a smaller child to be close by the water as a wave could come up. He asked us to move to the beach by the pier. So although the unit it is very close to the beach, depending on the time of year you’re here and the age of any children that might be with you, the close beach might not be ideal.

Larger half of duplex

Everything was great--plenty of beach things in the outdoor closet, and the beach was close, as was the town. We onlu disappointment was that a freezer had leaked water over the kitchen floor when we arrived. There was a sign on the freezer saying not to use it. We put towels on the floor and mopped up the mess, and it didn't reoccur. Would definitely rent this house again!
