Cozy Cottage with Guest House, Gazebo and Deck

Cozy Cottage with a separate guest house is in the country near Abita Brewery, wineries, Lake Ponchartrain, and a short drive to New Orleans. This historic barge board cottage on private property has a covered gazebo, wraparound screened-in porch, outdoor deck and walking paths through the woods to see foliage, squirrels, and birds. One of the features I love most and guests constantly refer to is the huge screened wraparound porch -- a great space for listening to birdsong and admiring the beauty of the woods. Look for the cardinals who will come to visit in the azaleas along the side of the porch. Ample parking. Nice set up for guests who need two separate areas since the guest house sports its own porch, two bedrooms, and a full bath. Kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to prepare a gourmet dinner or something simple to enjoy on the deck or screen porch. There are four bedrooms: two in the main house and two in the guest house. The main house front bedroom contains a double bed to accommodate two guests and the back bedroom offers a queen bed for two guests. There are three twin beds in the guest house to accommodate three guests. Both buildings have a full bath.

The cozy cottage felt like my grandmother’s house. The large azalea bushes were in full bloom, and we loved sitting and eating on the large screened porch. It was conveniently located near our relatives in the area. The Abita Brewery was nearby and a fun place to hang out.

Great stay north of New Orleans!! The pictures can't fully capture the authentic, comfortable, and quaint feel of this cottage in Louisiana. The area is beautiful and this property is conveniently located to allow full exploration of Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans.The cottage (two cottages actually) is everything we had hoped for when looking for a property with a real Louisiana feel. Private without feeling isolated. Comfortable living space, exceptionally cozy beds, great bathrooms, easily-usable kitchen...and the grounds are spectacular! The wrap-around porch, gazebo, and deck all allowed for outdoor living...in February!!The owner is gracious, highly communicative and responsive to questions, and ensured that we were comfortable and having our needs met. We spent the entire month and would have stayed longer if we could! Looking forward to coming back soon!

Merry is an excellent host! This was our 2nd time staying at her lovely home. Our nephew stayed in the guest house. It was great that he got to have some privacy. We stayed in the main house. The bed we slept in is super comfy. I loe that the house is away from the road. It's nice & quiet, just what we want on vacation!

Our experience overall was great! We were pleased that all was in order and ready for use.We enjoyed excellent privacy and convenient access in all directions to places we planned to visit. We had all the conveniences we have at home. There was an abundance of space to enjoy. We'll consider staying at the Cozy Cottage when we visit the area again as we do have family in the area. Sweet Retreat

We visited Louisiana for a graduation, the house had more than enough space. Like a secluded retreat tucked away, but very close to everything you need. No complaints. The porch was a treat at the end of the night. Very comfortable beds. Very clean.

Love this cozy place

This place has the perfect name cause it is so cozy! Such a cute cottage ! My daughter loved the hammock , I love the porch swing ! Location is great! The owner has always been quick to reply if I message. Everything we could possibly need was already here. My 10 year old son is tearing up cause he’s sad to leave . We will for sure be back!

QUIET, LOVELY HOUSE!

The host Merry was super informative and kept us in the loop when is SNOWED in Louisiana (never happens). All was good at the house though thank goodness. Easy directions to get in. The heat worked fantastic (not always the case in older homes) and the bed was super comfortable. We are going back in December and are going to book this house again!

Older cabins, cute not fancy. Very nice large screened in porch. Abita Springs is a nice area. Take the brewery tour.
