Stunning secluded beach-front studio home

Studio house with great modern kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom area.Your private deck is a lovely place to enjoy a wine and the amazing views.
Your privacy is assured as there are no neighbours around my property. So you wake up only to the sound of birds and the gentle of lap of the water.
You are only a few minutes walk from the sandy beach, with great swimming and a boat ramp right in front of the house.
A pristine harbour offers good fishing spots, plus ideal for sailing, kite surfing, paddle boarding or kayaking.Price includes 2 good sea kayaks.
With summer on it's way it is the ideal place for a relaxed get away, so you can curl up with a good book and a glass of wine to watch the sun go down.

We have lovely walking tracks in the area or it is a 15 minute drive to the Kawhia Golf Course.
There is a local horse trek available (in summer) or if you have your own horses we are happy for you to use our post and rail paddock facilities.
There are also Cafe's and some good local craft shops in nearby Kawhia.

This is also an area of historic cultural significance, with an old Pa site as our back drop. You can sit in the shade of our 1000+ year Pohutukawa tree and enjoy the ambience.

Although we are on the coast, Aotea is still central to a number of key tourist attractions in the region.
Less than 20 minutes you can be sitting in the Te Puia Hot Springs on the beach at Kawhia, watching the sun go down.
45 minutes south to the Otorohanga Kiwi and Native Bird House
45 minutes north to the Raglan Bridal Veil Falls
60 minutes scenic drive to Marokopa Falls and Mangapohue Natural Stone Bridge
1 hour drive to the world famous Waitomo Glow Worm Caves or go Caving or Black Water Rafting

Well above expectations, this was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. Arrived there exhausted and left there 3 days later feeling relaxed and ready to go back to reality. We would definitely recommend staying there.

Had a fabulous short stay at Ruru Whare. I wish I could have stayed longer. It was so peaceful sitting on the sunny deck relaxing and watching the tide go in and out, and Mt Karioi in the distance.

We loved this home and location. Although my intention was to stay closer to Raglan, we ended up being very happy with where we were. We paddleboard and paddled across the bay/bar. It was heaven. Plus i love a morning fire with coffee.

This is an immaculate setting, everything a couple could want, if you want to be away from everything for a few days. We absolutely loved the serenity, views and little town down the road with a nice beach walk. Star viewing is best I've seen. Simply superb! Note that because the house is on a hill overlooking the bay, the kayaks can be a chore to get down to the launch unless you have a vehicle that can hoist them. Not a big deal and we would go back in a heartbeat if it wasn't so far from Charleston, SC

A very compact and comfotable whare. All that we needed was available, from linen to utensils. The shower was the perfect end to our days, roomy, and the right amount of water pressure.Unfortunately the weather did not play its part however that is beyond control. I hope we left it in order.

For us Ruru Whare is all about chilling out in a special place.Location by Aotea harbour is great for walks, swimming and relaxing on the studio deck watching the ever changing view. Ruru Whare is first class.

Loved view, comfortable couches, thoughtfulness of kitchen and towels etc, host was warm and great communication. Retracted from society, but also lovely to see the locals actively using the beach for fishing and boating. Beautiful clean linen, etc only let down in that regard was the mattress for my taste.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here but wish we’d stayed longer. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. Annette was very helpful prior to arrival and was always quick to respond to any queries. I’d highly recommend a stay to friends and family.

Had the best time. Relaxing, quiet, friendly. Dog friendly so could take dog for walks on the beach each day. Amazing views of Aotea Harbour and pretty much right on your doorstep. Ruru Whare has everything you need and more. Annette was a wonderful host. We will definitely be back again
