Our two-story home on a quiet tree-lined street will be a welcome retreat for your family or friends getaway! Quilters will love the shops downtown - one guest described Hamilton as a "Quilters' Disneyland"! In the fall, hunters will love the local conservation areas. Hardwood floors, a jack-and-jill bedroom closet, and the cutest under-the-stairs bathroom you've ever seen, make this house a charmer. With large rooms, comfy furniture, a dining room big enough for a crowd, and king, queen, full and twin size beds to sleep 10, our guests can enjoy time together and have room to spread apart. Spend quiet mornings relaxing on the front porch swing, evenings in the fenced back yard toasting marshmallows over the fire pit, and days playing games, crafting, quilting, and just renewing yourself in our comfortable space. Take a day trip to St Joseph for some history, Kansas City for BBQ, or Jamesport Amish country for some great shopping! There are pumpkin patches and apple orchards in the fall; water parks and lakes in the summer; and great restaurants and wineries year-round - all less than 45 minutes away. Whether you are planning a weekend with the girls, a family vacation or a hunting retreat with friends, there's something for everyone at The Hamilton House!

Was perfect to visit the quilt museum and fabric stores. The only thing we couldnt find in the kitchen was a corkscrew. Luckily we brought our own!

Lovely Family Reunion

We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you so much for the delicious muffins that greeted us when we arrived! We were able to enjoy the town with the many shops, go to a local campground to visit with Family, and make meals at the home when our family came to visit. Overall, it was an excellent stay.

It was clean , comfortable , though the half bath downstairs was not very convienent. I don’t know why the door was where it was because it was not easily accessible. It had enough linens . The cooking pans need updated but overall it was very comfortable.. Had trouble with WiFi. A big thank you for the muffins , they were superb.

A fun place with charm!

Had a great time. This is a period home with a updated kitchen and upstairs bathroom. Very good communication with the host and lovely bed, linens and towels. The bottom bathroom has a very small door so if you have larger guests, they may not find it accommodating but once you get through the door, it’s very nice and updated. Would definitely recommend you staying here if you were in the area. Much preferable to staying at a hotel and we were able to spend lots of time together laughing and talking. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us.

Spacious House with Friendly Hosts

We rented this house for a family gathering. We had 5 children and three adults. We played games at the spacious dinning room table. The host left a sweet note and homemade cookies! The host was also very accommodating and quick to respond to all messages. We will be back!!

Charming house

We had a lovely stay and the owner was great to communicate with! The neighborhood is not as nice as the house is, but we had no issues and their front door locks automatically which is good. One of the reasons we booked this was because of the fenced in yard as we were having young family members over, the little play house is adorable, but what doesn't seem to be shown in the pictures, is 2 shed/garage type buildings that look questionable in their stability yet the doors are open….And it is not a restricted area and the fence goes behind them. But overall, it was great and we had a lovely visit.

Girls weekend to Missouri Star

A cosy historic, home away from home. It was the perfect stay for three friends, all being able to have our own room. The amenties were wonderful and the house is a perfect walking distance into town. We would recommend staying at this property.

The best Host ever!

This house was very very clean! She was great with getting us in the earlier than the stated check-in time! And even left us a Delicious treat! ( Pecan Pie MuffinsYum!!!) That was such sweet little surprise. This is an older home, so it has little creaks and embellishments brought back memories of days past..

The house is very clean, in a very nice neighborhood, close to shopping.. Beds were very comfortable. Was perfect for 2 night stay to check out Missouri Star Quilting. Lovely town and lots of fun for quilters.

Great little town with several options for your stay. The homes are all older, so little things stand out - like the super nice towels at this place. Also, owner communication was great.
