Pros: Excellent location – Perfect if you want to avoid driving into Cambridge city centre. Helpful housekeeping staff – The cleaning staff were friendly, polite and very helpful throughout our stay. Comfortable stay – The room was spacious and comfortable for the three of us. Cons: Poor mobile and Wi-Fi signal – There was no mobile signal inside the room and the Wi-Fi connection was extremely weak. We reported the issue to the front desk and although they rebooted the router, it did not resolve the problem. Disappointing breakfast – Our first day's breakfast experience was very poor. Breakfast is served until 9:30 a.m., and we arrived at 8:00 a.m., but most of the food had already run out. When we asked the staff, we received no assistance or explanation. In the end, we had to make do with bread and butter.

Had a recent weekend break at the Red Lion with my wife in order to visit am airshow at nearby Duxford. The premises is well located, within walking distance of the airfield, also close to a mainline railway station for visits to Cambridge. Plenty of parking is available , just remember to register your vehicle when you arrive to avoid charges. This is an old building, the ceilings leading towards the rooms are low, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. We had food in the bar, there are plenty of choices, it is tasty and good value. You may need to book to secure a table as the venue is popular, but this was not a problem. Breakfast was excellent, good choices to suit all. I would like to mention the lady who was serving breakfast on Saturday morning. She was also managing the coffee shop as well as taking orders and serving the meals. She did an excellent job was friendly and hard working, thank you. Overall I enjoyed my visit, would certainly return and can highly recommend the Red Lion.
