  • Highlights

    Sandpiper is a beautiful, second tier home in the desirable Morgantown beach community. The beach access boardwalk is basically at the end of the driveway of this 1 story 5 bedroom, 4 bath home. So, you can go from looking at the view to being in the picture in no time at all. The spacious deck, with ample seating, provides the perfect spot for sunset watching and star gazing. Pro Tip: No need to pack for the day when you head to the beach. When you are this close, it's super easy to return for additional supplies.

    The Space

    Sandpiper features an open floor plan with a large living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen has granite counter tops and top of the line appliances. The 5 bedrooms orbit the living area in this one-story home. The King primary has a private bath with separate shower and a double sink. There is also balcony access from this room. Two of the other bedrooms have Queen beds and private baths. The 4th and 5th bedrooms share a bath. One has a Queen bed and the other, two Twin beds. In all, Sandpiper will comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests.

    For added safety and security, there is a Ring video doorbell at this property.

    * Renter must be at least 25 years of age. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

    Fort Morgan and Morgantown

    Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

    Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

    Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

    Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Great Family Vacation Spot!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful beach home. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was very clean. I would highly recommend this place for anyone’s family vacation. Great ocean views and location especially if you have little ones. Our dog so loved playing in the ocean and relaxing in the home too. We will definitely be back again!

50th Birthday Celebration Success!

Property is in a quiet neighborhood away from busy tourist areas, which is exactly what we wanted. Bedrooms were spacious, kitchen well equipped and everything is on one level. Lovely front porch where we enjoyed the breeze coming off the ocean. I hope to visit again some day soon!

Rooms are spaced apart perfectly, and the home is beautiful! Our walk to the beach was perfect. The home was clean and tidy for our arrival and all instructions were clear. Super PLUS is the ice maker for our cooler. The only thing to note, is parking is minimal. Only room for my car under the home. Other than that, we had an amazing time!!!

We had a wonderful time and the house was very well kept and clean. Kitchen full stocked and the ice maker was great as the one in the freezer doesn’t work. Linda the property manager came by and we had a wonderful talk with several suggestions to make this home even better. Would suggest if bringing your four legged baby bring something to block the top of the stairs or a long tether. Our fur baby had just as much fun as we did. We absolutely will book here again!!!!

Nice and Easy

Property was nice and pretty clean. Pictures on listing do the add justice. Seemed to represent what you were getting relatively well. The walk to the beach was less then what I thought it would be looking at satellite images. Coastal view (management company) needs some work on their app. They send you a bunch of emails telling you to get their app but there is no information on that app and it’s basically useless. Had to use the Vrbo app to get in touch with manger to get the door code which was painless but a little slow because my phone had little reception.

However, the thermostat is set on 72 , which proved to get stuffy at night. We had some hot natured folks in our party, so that was an issue. There was a strict note not to touch the thermostat or you would be responsible for damages. I feel like this should be shown in the listing before you rent. Home was fairly clean except for black dog hair we kept sweeping up off floor. I would rent again, providing these issues were resolved.

Everyone mentions the ice machine, because it's worth mentioning. Morgantown is a wonderful community, it has a real family atmosphere, probably because the children outnumber the adults by a wide margin. Shrieking, running out of their flip-flops, with their floaties all puffed up. Beach or pool, your choice. At night it's quiet, no frat parties. We highly recommend Morgantown and especially Sandpiper, and want to thank the staff at Coastal View Vacations for making our vacation great, year after year. Bill and Susan O'Shea

First Family Beach Vacation is One to Remember

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper! Waking up and being able to sit on the front porch and see/hear the ocean. The best! There were 10 of us but I never felt like we were all on top of each other. The bedrooms are spread out well and the kitchen was very spacious. The under the counter ice machine was the best. We didn’t have to worry about getting ice for coolers each day bc it was right there for us. Having the boardwalk right outside our front door was so great for the small children. Overall, our trip was great. The house could have been a bit cleaner when we got there but nothing that ruined our trip or would hinder us coming back to this exact house. We did eat out a few times and the drive into gulf shores was long at times but that’s no fault of the house. We knew we would have a bit of a drive with traffic. We loved our week at Sandpiper and hope to be back to make more memories.

Quiet and Secluded Beach Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sand Piper is a great house with plenty of amenities for the whole family and right next to the beach. This was our first time staying in Fort Morgan after receiving several recommendations from friends. Great open floorplan w/ 5 bed/4 bath including twin beds in last bedroom. Open kitchen and common area are plenty big for everyone to gather. TV in every room and great WIFI service. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals and has aux icemaker. We had one issue with the Keurig but mgt responded right away. Beach is literally 5 min walk as house is very close to the community boardwalk. Sit on the beautiful porch and listen to the Gulf or just enjoy the breeze. The only drawback to the location is that it's 14 miles from Gulf Shores so make a Plan if you want to do anything such as dining, mini golf, shopping as it takes a few minutes to get there. Otherwise, it's very quiet in the community and perfect for a week long getaway. We will definitely be returning.

Great Family Vacation Spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sandpiper is in a great location only steps from the beach. Overall the home is a great stay. Perfect size and nice layout. Very convenient and easy access to the beach. The board walk is literally in the front yard. There is room for parking four vehicles provided one is small enough to fit underneath. During our stay one of the tennis courts was usable. The net was broken on the second court. Younger kids enjoyed access to both community pools. The only issues we had were the ice makers. The frig icemaker would thaw and then refreeze causing the ice auger to lock up. We worked around that issue and it was a minor issue. The external ice maker needed cleaning and the filter had expired. No big deal if you are only using the ice in your coolers. The Morgantown community is really nice and quiet. The Sassy Bass Market just down the road was was convenient and although small had a supply of most common items. We would definitely stay in the Sandpiper again.

Great family house, but needs a little help!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this property for 7 days, big family, we appreciated the 5 bedrooms, although they were pretty small. Big open common area was great to hang out. Front porch had chairs and we enjoyed the view! Our experience with the property management company was great! Very responsive and friendly! We had a light fixture fall from the porch ceiling, and it was repaired same day! (Thank god no one was under it). Another issue we had was the pad lock to get into the home didn’t work well. Sometimes it locked, sometimes you didn’t need the code and could enter the home without key or code. I reported to the company, it was not fixed during our visit. Couple other things to note:Wifi was awfully slow! Book of house info said no streaming, which we didn’t quite understand, we couldn’t stream a Netflix movie when it rained for 48 hours straight! Note that the AC may not be turned to below 72. I think that’s something that should be noted upon booking. It was 90 degrees outside, we had 10 people, and cooked nightly. The house remained pretty hot during our stay because we couldn’t adjust the temp. Community pool was disgusting. Black algae (we assume that’s what it was) covers 1/4 of the pool. Water is murky. We swam for 10 minutes, then we’re too disgusted so we left. And a recommendation: your bath towels are so tiny! :). I’m an small-to-average sized person and it barely wrapped around my body. They are thin and small. Please invest in some better bath towels! Finally, please check under furniture, behind nightstands, between counter and ice maker, and everywhere. We had a stuffed animal get knocked under a bed, and when I picked it out, it was covered in dusty hair. When I moved the ottoman in the living room, filthy black dog looking hair under it. I think a deep thorough cleaning under, above, between everything would be good.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Wonderful Vacation!

Our family enjoyed this property very much! The house was even better than the pictures, and our family was very comfortable. Management was quick to address a problem we encountered. We look forward to staying here again in future
