As soon as we walked in the floor was sticky/sandy. I thought it was just natural from the beach sand and humidity but I used a wet paper towel and saw it was definitely residue of some sort. I attempted to mop and found that the used mop head was obviously the source of the stickiness. I ended up using hot water and paper towels as there were no cleaning products available for use. There was a spill under the refrigerator that had not been cleaned up. There was also what looked like recent spills on the walls by the trash can, the hall, and the linens in the extra bedroom. We had an issue with our room not locking upon exit. The property manager said we needed to enter the lock code and press a button to get the door to lock. When that didn’t work they sent a maintenance person who explained that in order to lock or unlock the door you have to enter your code and then manually unlock the bolt. Which is easy enough, but that means the unit was unlocked when we arrived. The maintenance person didn’t see a problem with that from a safety perspective for my family upon arrival. Additionally, the property manager should be able to give basic correct instructions on how to enter/exit the unit. Both beds in unit are hard and not comfortable at all. The master is a great size, so it was disappointing it was so uncomfortable. Overall it is a beautiful place located directly on the beach with incredible views. It is in a great location for shopping/eating/touring. Area felt safe.
