Garden (shared with other apartments). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. 5 Church Square is a delightful first floor apartment, situated in a former church, set back in its own courtyard. It has been tastefully renovated throughout and retains many original features. Providing comfortable accommodation for two guests, the apartment has a beautiful tiled floor in the dining hall, and its very own Monk’s Pew! The original church windows are stunning and are particularly attractive in the raised sitting room. These are just some of the features this stunning apartment offers.



    Rigg is a quiet little village a stones throw away from the world famous Gretna Green. This ideal location is only minutes from the main A75 and M6, perfect for exploring the area. Gretna Green, one of the world’s most popular wedding destinations due to its romantic wedding traditions dating back to the 1700s, is well worth a visit. It is possibly the most romantic village in the UK and has become synonymous with romance and runaway couples. Marriage ceremonies are still performed over a blacksmith’s anvil and Gretna Green attracts thousands of couples from all around the world to be married each year. It is easy to overlook that there is more to this area than weddings. Ideally placed to not only explore Dumfries and Galloway, it is also within easy reach of the Scottish Borders, Hadrian’s Wall, the fells of the Lake District National Park and much more. During your stay at 5 Church Square you can also enjoy a day shopping at Gretna Green Outlet Village, and a must is a trip to the nearby Devil’s Porridge Museum, where you can learn the story of how this area flourished into a hub of wartime activity. Lovely apartment, has everything you need and the welcome hampers was a lovely touch along with the fresh carnations. The only thing that was not so great was the bed the mattress was too soft and dippy a little old maybe and the bed a little rickety. Other than that I would happily stay again our host was very welcoming with some good ideas of what to visit and good knowledge of the local area

Accommodation is lovely, very quiet location with own parking space. George greeted us on a our arrival to welcome us there was milk in the fridge, tea & coffee & a fantastic welcome pack 😊 lots of leaflets & info on the stairwell of things to do & places to go & George is a mine of information himself, a lovely guy. We stayed on the first floor & loved the old church windows & watching the local cows in the field out the back in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay 🥰

Impressed. Ideal for a quiet stay. Small village no immediate facilities but approx 1 mile outside Gretna for shops.Adequately furnished. Good quality excellent value. Owner brilliant, nothing he won't do for you.Highly recommend staying here. If your looking for nightlife this might not be the place to stay.

We much enjoyed our holiday at 5 Church Square. Parking excellent-designated parking spot and plenty of room.The accommodation was excellent, clean and spacious. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower. A flat full of character (a converted church).The owner was very friendly and helpful and he welcomed us with a large basket of “goodies” We would certainly like to return.
