  • The Nuthouse Cottage se encuentra en una cresta con maderas duras al sur y un prado al este. Las vacas en pastoreo, las ovejas o las cabras están a la vista, al igual que los árboles de hoja perenne, incluida una cosecha de árboles de Navidad por los que el condado de Ashe es conocido.

    La cabaña es una estructura de tres pisos con una cocina bien equipada y conveniente que incluye estufa de gas, horno y lavaplatos. La cómoda sala de estar tiene una chimenea con leños de gas y se abre a porches con mecedoras y mesas, una parrilla de gas y jardines llenos de flores perennes en temporada.

    En el segundo piso, hay dos dormitorios con camas queen y un baño compartido con una gran ducha de azulejos. El dormitorio principal cuenta con una chimenea a gas, mientras que el segundo dormitorio tiene la escalera de caracol hasta el Nido del Cuervo, que tiene amplios asientos en las ventanas para ver el campo circundante. Estos son adecuados para dormir solo y se proporciona un saco de dormir para esto, así como mantas.

    Las comodidades también incluyen lavadora / secadora, reproductor de DVD y wifi gratis. La leña está disponible en temporada.

A truly special and incredible spot with wonderful hosts. By far the best place we’ve stayed. Our family of 4 cannot wait to go back. Perfectly situated between Grayson Highlands and West Jefferson. And honestly we didn’t leave the property for a whole day because it’s so peaceful.

This is our second trip. The home and the hosts are excellent. It is a beautiful property that is very well maintained and has been updated since our original visit. There is plenty to do on property to entertain the family. The kitchen is well equipped with high quality cookware which makes preparing a meal an enjoyable experience. Again a very pleasant and relaxing visit for our family and we hope to return again in the future.

We couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful, relaxing vacation! The hosts are kind and very responsive. Everything was cozy and beautiful and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. As a book lover, I loved perusing through all of the books! The pond was so fun and we had a great time fishing every day. We even caught enough to have a fish fry on our last night! We made so many precious memories here with our 6-year-old and we already can’t wait to come back soon. Highly recommend across the board!

This is our second time staying at this beautiful property and we love it so much. Staying in May was beautiful with all the flowers blooming. We had a blast fishing in the reflection pond and just exploring the property. My 3 kids (10, 12, 13) barely came inside even when it was raining because they were having so much fun. They didn't want to leave and are already talking about our next trip.

Talk about a home away from home! Nuthouse Cottage was above and beyond any expectations. Our check in was seamless and and all instructions were laid out perfectly. Everything you could’ve thought of needing was provided. The home was absolutely beautiful and the reflection pond was our favorite. We packed up lunches and spent the entire day down there fishing, floating, and enjoying the views. We can’t wait to visit again!

Perfect, as usual!

This is our second family stay in the lovely Nuthouse and it was magical. They have given thought to every detail, making this a cozy and luxurious stay for all! The hosts are terrific people— so responsive and generous. We love it there!

Mountain oasis

Super relaxing retreat in the mountains. We loved the cute and comfortable cottage, the pond, property and amenities. Left feeling recharged and relaxed!

Grayson Highlands trail race trip

Stayed here to be in close proximity to Grayson Highlands state park for a trail race. Nothing negative to say about our lodging and the property. We had everything we needed and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend if you are escaping the city and want a relaxing stay in the playground I call the mountains!

What a wonderful stay we had ! Our hosts were amazing and responsive and the house and property are amazing. We (2 kids and 4 adults) were treated to a winter wonderland with enough snow to sled on. We hiked at Grayson Highlands, had coffee and treats at the general store in Lansing, checked out the fly fishing spots, and visited Damascus and West Jefferson. Such a beautiful place to unwind! At the end of each day we read books by the fire and walked the extensive trails on the property (gorgeous sunset views and beautiful stars at night). The dogs were in heaven as well . The house is so well stocked and full of fun surprises like the views from the cupola where the kids slept.

DREAMY!!

This is the second time we have stayed here, and it will not be the last. The Nut House is absolute perfection. Nestled in the gorgeous mountains surrounded by nature, each little detail of the home is so charming. It has become a "home away from home" for us. Highly recommend!

Slice of Heaven on Earth

Absolutely a magnificent place in every way! The pictures on the website are great but the actual place is beyond beautiful. If you want true peace and quiet in a beautiful well kept and cared for home with everything you need along with very attentive hosts, this would be the place to go. We are already planning our next visit to The Nuthouse!

This vacation home is absolutely beautiful! There were so many things to do on the property. The home itself as all the amenities including a kitchen any chef would feel at home in!! 100% recommend.

I can't say enough good things about the Nuthouse. Amazing property. Beautiful landscape, beautiful grounds and more than beautiful house inside and out. The owners were a pleasure to deal with, both by messaging and in person. We can't wait to be back

Perfection

One of the loveliest homes and properties we have ever stayed. The view is incredible, the location is absolutely beautiful and peaceful and the home is cozy and comfortable. Our whole family loved every minute of our visit here. The fireflies at night were spectacular. The kitchen is one of the best stocked I’ve ever seen. My kids loved the crow’s nest and rocking in the chairs on the front porch was blissful. We certainly plan to return!!

One of the best VRBO places we’ve ever stayed. Great attention to detail and very clean. The only reason I would not highly recommend is that I want it to be available to go back again and stay in the future.

I was welcomed by the host as I arrived and got lots of good info on places to eat and attractions. There was also lots of info in the house. I have never rented a place with a better stocked kitchen- nice pots, pans and good knives lots of dishes too. Updated appliances and comfy furniture. The view was amazing even after all the leaves had fallen. Star gazing was top notch too. We walked some of the trails and I caught some nice fish in the pond. We will definitely be returning to the Nut House

Amazing property!

The Nuthouse cottage exceeded expectations! The house was clean and well stocked with everything you could want for an escape away from the city. The property had amazing views and was immaculately manicured. Traylor was an awesome host and this would be the first place we would check if/when we want to come back to the area!
