This hotel gave me the worst experience ever.
I had my business expenses stolen from my laptop bag.
I checked out early in the morning with a colleague. I asked about a refund because I was checking out three days early, but they said no, so I started moving on to my next schedule. About an hour later, I realized I'd left my laptop bag behind, so I went back to get it. Until then, I was incredibly grateful.
When I received my bag back and checked its contents, I discovered the envelope containing the company travel expenses was missing. I went back to ask the staff, but the staff member who helped me check out and kept my bag repeatedly denied knowing anything. I couldn't understand how the money could have gone missing after only two hours.
I'm certain the hotel staff searched my bag. The zipper wasn't where I usually put it. I stayed at the hotel for over two weeks and was satisfied, but ultimately, I was deeply shocked by the worst experience I've ever had, and the lack of ethics and integrity among American hotel staff.
How can a customer search a bag they accidentally left behind?
I wanted to report it to the police, but my next appointment was so tight that I didn't have time to report it or complain about losing my money. I was a foreigner, my next appointment was urgent, and I was so angry.
I'll never forget the face of the employee who kept repeating, "I don't know."
