the home is on the golf course 1 mile from the ski area in a quiet neighborhood. If you are looking for some R&R welcome home!

Each level (3 levels with 3 bathrooms/showers) of this 2600 SF newly built home has a covered porch facing the sunset colors peeking through the cedars. A perfect spot to breathe deep, let your shoulders relax, and uncork a bottle from the neighboring winery. With 2 kitchens and multiple living areas the house works well for groups wanting extra space.

Nestled on a 27 hole golf course, Big Cedar House is blessed with a prime location! With views of the ski area and Lake Superior, guests can cozy up with a book or take a short walk to the winery. The home sits on a foundation that rolls into an old growth ring of cedar trees. There you will find a peaceful and quiet firepit. This ring of cedar trees captured the hearts of the owners. The lot is unique in that with the encompassing foliage you would never guess you were on a golf course until you hear the occasional “ting” of a golf club or the cheer of a good shot. Otherwise it is a quiet forest with chipmunks and squirrels going about their day to day.

Big Cedar House is a versatile structure with 2600 sf and 3 stories. Each level has sleeping arrangements with cozy blankets, comfy pillows, and a clean bathroom. Each level of this newly (2019/2020) built home has a covered porch facing the cedar trees for sunset colors peeking through the pines. A perfect spot to breathe deep, let your shoulders relax, and uncork a bottle from the local winery.

First floor bedding:
-Bedroom with queen bed and fold out rolling twin cot located in closet.

2nd floor bedding:
Master bedroom with king bed.

3rd floor Loft:
Queen bed, trundle bed with 2 twins, and fold out rolling twin.

The first floor has a kitchenette so early risers can make coffee or late nighters can enjoy some refreshments .

Firepit rules:
-make sure there are no fire bans (cook county sheriff 218-387-3030)
-keep fire contained in metal chiminea and do not move it
- no fires longer than 5 hrs
-no fires after 11:00
-shovel and metal bucket provided to clean out pit as needed.
-Fire must always be attended
-keep fire small and contained
-extinguish when done with water in white Pails and cover with black grill lid
-refill water pails
-Use spark arrester grate if needed
-cover when done

This house is great! The basement was perfect for all the ski equipment on and off. The bedrooms were well explained and the space upstairs was perfect for the kids to hang out in while the adults had their space to play cards and hang out!! Will definitely be our new place to stay for a Lutsen ski trip!!

Very spacious property. Clean with pretty much everything you would need. No washer/dryer though so keep that in mind if you plan to stay here for a while. Three floors, nice bathroom on each level, kitchens on two levels- so the ground floor level is self contained if you need it to be. Winery in walking distance so we that. Close to hiking and a short drive to grand Marais. The house is right between holes 4 and 5 on the golf course. The bedroom on the second floor has a skylight above the bed so great viewing of the stars. There is a fire pit- we did not use. Lots of windows and light with outdoor balconies, I would consider coming back, especially to golf or ski.

We had the most amazing time here & the weather was perfect for fall. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and the bonfire pit. Walking distance to a winery, Lutsen gondola, walking trails, and Grand Marais. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Over all we enjoyed the property. We were disappointed that the fire pit was a ways from the house and there were so many weeds around the deck and along the path to the pit. We were worried about the bugs since it was so many tall weeds and brush. It should be cleaned out more. But the house was fine.

We have been to Lutsen several times for skiing, and this is our first time in the summer. We absolutely loved it. The house is spacious, with plenty of space for 3 families to have a comfortable stay. The kitchen has all the utensils. We did hikes in Lutsen mountains, Cascade river state park, explored Toffee and Grand Marais, watched July 4th fireworks, enjoyed the view of Lake Superior and searched for agates along the shore. Would love to come back there again.

This property is exactly what our group of eight skiers/snowboarders needed; plenty of beds to sleep in, multiple spaces to hang out, and three bathrooms. The house had a variety of board games, including our favorite - Catchphrase (we forgot to bring ours so we were thankful to be forgiven for our mistake). 2nd floor dining table was large enough for our group to play cards/games. Dishwasher made cleanup easy. Beds/pillows were comfortable, even the trundle beds. Kitchen was stocked with utensils/supplies. We did not use the fire pit, as the area was covered with snow. However, the relative seclusion was nice, and the location about a mile below the ski hill was great. Everyone in our group was more than satisfied; even one person said upon first inspection "This place is better than the pictures!" We would recommend this property to other large groups.

This VRBO provided ample space for our adult children and my husband and me. We cooked most meals in the well stocked kitchen and played games in the dining room while enjoying the beauty of fresh snow on trees. Great beds and linens and ample bathrooms made it so like home. We snow shoed, downhill skied, and visited the winery! Thank you so very much!

Beautiful property with plenty of room for our growing family. Perfect location close to trails, restaurants, the winery and a short drive to Grand Marais. Awesome bonfire area tucked away in the woods. Ben was great to work with and was super responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay at this lovely home again.
