Historic Home Overlooking Lake Granbury and steps from the square... The James H. Doyle House was designated a Granbury Historical Landmark by the City of Granbury Historic Commission November 2, 1999. The home is one of the few remaining large homes built in Granbury before 1900 still here The "Captain's House" - built back in 1875, located in historic district, and just steps from the square!

The Captains Suite is a large suite located on the first floor. Decorated in warm colors, this room has a king size bed w/fireplace, private full bath with jet tub and walk in shower.

Great get a way

We loved the beautiful house and the excellent location. A short, safe walk from there Granbury town square. The square has lots of great things to do and a great night life. Having such a historic and awesome place to stay makes a visit perfect!

Lovely restored house. Shared areas included kitchen with frig and microwave. Walk to lake and sit on two different deck areas. This property is really amazing and walking distance to square.

Great Granbury Getaway!

The Captain's Suite is perfect for a "couples get away weekend". The historic home is filled with beautiful furniture, fixtures, and art. It is only a 3 block walk to the Historic Granbury Square. The suite had everything we needed. King bed with very nice linens. Huge walk in shower with bench (bath soap and shampoo included). Best of all were the gracious hosts, Tony and Tina. They were promptly available if we needed anything but were not the "in your face" hosts at all. A gorgeous place to stay and we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend. B & C stayed April 2024

Getaway with Husband

My husband and I were looking for somewhere not too far from home for a brief escape and for some r&r. This place was perfect, right off the lake, and less than a 10 minute walk to the square in Granbury. The host was wonderful, and the little breakfast left outside our door each morning was just perfect. We loved it. We will be back!

Great hosts, fabulous home!

What a gem! So close to everything, clean and very comfortable! The best thing about this place is the hosts! Tony and Tina are very accommodating; they serve a beautiful breakfast and couldn't have been nicer.

Excellent B&B

My husband and I stayed in the Captain's Suite at the Captain's House, which was beautiful and we were extremely comfortable. The bathroom is large with a separate bathtub and shower and a separate water closet, and two sinks. Perfect. Our host was very accommodating and cordial. Enjoyed our stay very much and hope to come again.

The Captain's Room at the Captain's House

The room in which we stayed was one of the nicest, most spacious bed and breakfast rooms we've ever stayed in, and the house is beautifully decorated. The neighborhood is nice, and the house is only a 5 minute walk from the Granbury square, which has interesting shops (including a very nice bookstore) and several excellent restaurants. We enjoyed reading our books at the fire pit overlooking the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning.

Quiet and relaxing location for downtown Granbury

Location was a short walk away from downtown, which is exactly where we wanted to be. No street noise that we noticed. A lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, orange juice, and a pastry was on a platter outside our room before 8:30 AM each day. Wonderful place and we'd be happy to stay again.

Lovely Room!

We stayed in the Captain's Room. It was beautifully furnished and quiet. There was a Keurig coffee maker with ample coffee supplies and two wine glasses with wine opener. We were happily suprised to find that a breakfast tray of fruit, pastries, and orange juice was left outside our door. Very easy check in and great communication from the owners.

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed! We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and we could not have chosen a better place to stay and especially the Captain's Suite. We had plenty of room to spread out, sit by the fire, and just lounge in an extremely comfortable bed! Tina and Tony are exceptional hosts! Highly recommend!
