"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. "If you are lanning to stay more than one day, PLEASE TAKE YOUR SHOWER GEL. Room are not cleaned daily. Continental Breakfast was OK. Weather became colder in evening & at night, there is no heating. When I requested, she can ot start central heating as these are summer months. There is no portable heater. Be careful, befora you book this palce"

"Very pretty property, with a great view. A little distance from the city center, but they run a most friendly and flexible shuttle into town that works great, very good idea and a very commendable effort. Breakfast is good. We had a large room (2 adults 2 kids) very spacious. Some aspects of maintenance could be improved, but it is always a challenge with these country homes, they have the charm, but not everything is impecable. A little on the expensive side, but reasonable. Great parking."

"The positives were the airy room and lovely garden. The big negative was the buffet breakfast which they proudly claim to be award-winning. The reality is that for a 4 star hotel, the quality and range of options was extremely poor. Too many short cuts and cost cutting. The veggie options were limitd and not displayed on the tables and there were no extras (eg crushed avocado) even if you were willing to pay a bit extra. There was no fruit yogurt in individual pots and no higher quality healthy...

"If you want somewhere to stay that is reasonable in price and puts together a good evening meal and breakfast with good beer behind the bar then this is for you. One small drawback my satnav could not find the postcode!!"

"stayed for 1 week bed & breakfast. Checked in OK. Room size OK, but overlooking car-park with main road 50 metres away. Room furnished with freestanding pine double wardrobe accommodating full-sized ironing board, electric iron and hairdryer. space divided into 2, left side fore and aft clothes hanging rail (6 hangers),right side 3 shelves 2 drawers. The wardrobe double doors warped, difficult to open & close making loud squealing noise! the drawers were off their broken runners and operated...

"Lovely comfy room, fan provided during the extreme heat. Lovely small, mostly shaded, terrace at the back of the hotel. Delicious breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. There is one set of steep, narrow stairs to get to the rooms although help was offered to carry up our case."

"Nice little bar with good outside space great location a Ross from open forest. Room smelt of dog after a while and the room needs a new lick of paint as does other areas .not a bad place just a little tlc needed .also breakfast couldn't see a price anywhere so didn't pre order one as you have to do that.
