The shops are closed on all other Sundays and public holidays.
You can easily combine your city trip to Ghent with one of the seaside resorts on the Flemish coast. Knokke, Blankenberge and Ostend are a stone's throw away.

The nearest tram stop is a short walk away, providing convenient access to the city center and main train station (Gent-Sint-Pieters). From the train station, you can connect to national and international destinations. For those arriving by car, paid parking is available off-premises. Please note that street parking can be limited. Travel time to Gent-Sint-Pieters station is approximately 10-15 minutes by tram, and from there, you can easily reach Brussels Airport (BRU) in about an hour by train.
