Catignano is a small fraction of the municipality of Gambassi Terme. A village that has kept intact over time the characteristic profiles of the small medieval settlement, a genuine and ancient corner of Tuscany, located on the crest of a hill overlooking the Valdelsa.
All around the small village develops a dense crown of vineyards, olive groves and woods with the typical vegetation of oaks, holm oaks and cypresses where it is possible to meet roe deer, hares, pheasants and observe the flight of doves, bee-eaters and hoopoes. .
Those who want to experience the truest spirit of Tuscany can stop here sharing the rural life of the local people or stroll relaxing among the aromas and flavors of the countryside and good food. A place where you can venerate pleasure, beauty and nature.
All the comforts, including the swimming pool, in a period structure immersed in the Tuscan countryside, is well suited as a base for visits to the cities of art, to the Romanesque churches located on the historic Via Francigena and to the medieval castles that are located in the surrounding area.
The house still retains the authentic bell tower, the chapel with frescoes, the old cellar with a room for reading and listening to music.
The apartment has an open space with a veranda where you can have meals, taste the magnificent wines and products of the area, rest and sunbathe.
In the trattorias and restaurants of the area it is possible to taste the typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine, Tuscan oil and wines, the famous white truffle, Florentine steak, game, fresh and aged cheeses and typical sausages of the area.
Wine routes for Castellina in Chianti, Radda, Gaiole in Chianti, for San Gimignano, Montalcino and Montepulciano.
A few kilometers away you can reach Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Radda in Chianti, Lucca, Vinci and other characteristic places. For daily shopping and various needs, at 4/5 kilometers there are supermarkets, shops of all kinds and weekly markets.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I thoroughly loved our week! Franco is the most hospitable host, welcoming us with a lovely bottle of his delicious chianti, providing us with guide books to help us plan our day trips, and treating us to a tasting of his wines and tour of the property. The apartment perfectly suited our needs. It was just too bad that the weather didn't cooperate the week we were there so we could have better enjoyed the lovely terrace and pool. Franco + family, that's again. We were treated like family and hope to return. And certainly, we will recommend the apartment to family and friends looking for an authentic Tuscan stay.

Un endroit où l'on se sent bien

Le logement est idéal pour accueillir un couple, très propre, confortable, au calme, avec une très belle vue depuis la terrasse. Sa localisation est également très pratique pour parcourir la Toscane et visiter les sites les plus recommandés. Enfin, l'accueil de Franco et Patrizia est extrêmement chaleureux et est bien au-delà de ce que l'on rencontre normalement. A la fois gentils, prévenants, toujours souriants, sans être envahissants. Et prêts à vous aider pour profitez au mieux de vos vacances. Que demander de plus!

Schöne, charmante toskanische Ferienwohnung

Sowohl im Inserat, als auch bei Ankunft gefiel uns die Wohnung sehr gut. Alles war sehr sorgfältig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es fehlte an nichts. Einziger Mangel war die geringe Größe des Apartments. Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei den netten und gastfreundlichen Vermietern Franco und Patrizia sehr genossen.

Wonderful stay!!

What an amazing week!! Franco and family were so welcoming! Had a lovely tour of the home as well as a tasting of lovely wines! They were very helpful with reservations and getting my friend and I scheduled for a cooking class!! We left feeling more like family than guests!! We both agree we will be back for another visit!!

Ein toller Ort zum Entspannen

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in Gambassi Terme. Die Unterkunft hat alles, was man braucht. Die Landschaft ist ein Traum und die Unterkunft ruhig. Franco hatte sehr gute Tipps für die Umgebung. Ein Weingut für eine Weinprobe ist auch direkt nebenan (2km). Wir kommen gern wieder.

Un séjour parfait

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour chez Franco. Il est toujours disponible et souriant. Le logement était très propre et parfaitement équipé. L'emplacement est parfait, dans un petit hameau isolé, il est idéalement placé pour visiter en moins d'une heure Sienne, Florence, Volterra etc... Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir

Hervorragender Urlaub

Wir also ich und meine Freundin können diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen. Es war eine sehr schöne Wohnung und vorallem war es sehrbSauber die Umgebung war sehr ruhig .Dazu war es sehr gut gelegen für ein Paar Tages Trips nach Siena Florenz Pisa usw. auch das Meer war in einer Stunde mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Unser Absolutes Highlight waren aber unsere Vermieter die wirklich super lieb und Herzlich waren das hat den Italien Urlaub zu was ganz besonderen gemacht. Jederzeit wieder😁

Schöner Aufenthalt in der Toskana

Nettes Apartment für 2 Personen mit eigenem großem Pool und einer schönen, großen Terrasse. Die Gastgeber waren sehr gastfreundlich, wir haben uns dort sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Leider waren viele Mücken da, die man trotz Fliegengitter an der Terrassentür nachts nicht aus der Wohnung fernhalten konnte. Nichtsdestotrotz ein ruhiger Ort in der Toskana, an dem man super entspannen kann und in die umliegenden Ortschaften und Städte zum Wandern und Sightseeing fahren kann.

Relaxing days in Tuscany

We stayed at Franco‘s appartment for 9 days. It‘s perfect for two people and we very much enjoyed our stay. Franco is a great and welcoming host and made us feel at home. He gave us an insight into the other appartments, his flat (also very pretty with much love to detail) and the wine cellar, where we tasted his creations. La pergola has a nice terrace with a beautiful view and the garden is pretty and well maintained by Franco. We had the big pool to ourselves. All in all a great and quiet place to relax and explore the area, which we mostly did on our bikes. Supermarkets are around 10mins away. Thanks for the lovely days Franco!

Wunderbar

Wir waren für 5 Nächte hier zu Gast und es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Eine wirklich tolle Landschaft umgibt dieses Apartment, welche von der Terrasse aus super zu sehen ist. In 10 minütiger Entfernung mit dem Auto befindet sich ein großer Supermarkt, in dem man alles Notwendige erhält. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich freundlich und helfen gern bei allen Fragen oder Problemen weiter. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Wer Ruhe sucht und die Toskana erkunden möchte ist hier genau richtig. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert!

Beautiful little apartment just right for a couple

Set in the Tuscan hills this is a delightful little apartment with a secluded terrace and lively shared outdoor pool just right for a cooling dip. Lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive and Franco's tips for using the train to access Siena and Firenze were very helpful. Franco and Patricia were great hosts sharing their local knowledge and some of their wine. We would recommend the property and hope to return in the future.

Super Lage

Die Ferienwohnung ist super gelegen für Ausflüge in Richtung Florenz, Siena, Pisa. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Zum Einkaufen muss man eine kleine strecke fahren, aber dafür hat man in der Ferienwohnung absolute Ruhe. Alles in Allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Traumhaft

Unser Urlaub war traumhaft. Die Ferienwohnung war ein kleines verstecktes Juwel in der Hügellandschaft in dieser Region der Toskana. Eine kleine und sehr gepflegte Anlage. Nicht zuletzt der sehr nette Umgang und die wirklich gute Hilfsbereitschaft und Freundlichkeit der Vermieter sorgten für eine sehr gute Urlaubsatmosphäre. Von diesen Ort sind gut Ausglüge in die Umgebung möglich. Auch anstrengende Tagesausflüge können leicht bewältigt werden, weil der Erholungswert am Abend sehr hoch ist. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert. Ganz herzlichen Dank.

Klein aber fein

Wir haben unsere Flitterwochen in Catignano sehr genossen. Der Ausblick ist einfach nur wunderschön. Von dem Ort aus kann man die schönen Städte der Toskana gut erreichen, vor allem San Gimignano ist nicht weit weg (und allemal einen Besuch wert!!). Die Wohnung ist sehr klein, dafür aber sehr gemütlich und vor allem sauber und ordentlich. Das WLAN hat leider nicht so gut funktioniert (außer von der Terrasse), ebenso gab es keinen Geschirrspüler. Dafür war die die Einrichtung sehr stilvoll und passend. Die Terrasse konnte man auch gut nutzen. Leider war bei uns das Wetter für den Pool noch nicht warm genug, aber im Sommer ist der Bereich super angelegt mit weitem Ausblick auf die Umgebung. Der gastgeber war sehr nett und freundlich. Gleich zum ersten Abend gab es eine Flasche Wein aus eigener Herstellung. Außerdem haben wir am Ende der Woche noch eine kleine Verkostung anderer Leckerein im Weinkeller bekommen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

Tuscany Bliss

This is the perfect spot to get away from the city and enjoy staying in an Italian villiage. The apartment is perfect for two people with a lovely terrace which has both a table with chairs and two lounge chairs. Pool is wonderful and a great area to relax in. The hosts make you feel like family from the moment of your arrival. Great location close to many hill towns in Tuscany and a base to explore Tuscany. Many restaurants within a short drive. Would highly recommend this apartment! Looking forward to returning again!

Les propriétaires sont agréables, prévenants et généreux. La piscine un plus en ces temps de canicule ! Nous recommandons cette location à un couple et la voiture est indispensable. Bien placée pour visiter Florence, Sienne, et les villages médiévaux. Encore merci à Patrizia et son mari.

Hosts were lovely, so welcoming and caring...

A clean well kept and comfortable apartment exactly as described. The terrace was ideal for outside eating and you can also sunbathe. Pool and pool area well maintained and very pretty.

Location au top à tous les niveaux

Des propriétaires charmants, toujours prêt à vous aider et à vous satisfaire. La location est très bien entretenue. Franco et Patricia sont des personnes adorables et ont un talent évident pour la décoration, l'hospitalité et le gout du détail. La piscine est fort agréable et irréprochable. Nous avons vécu 9 jours d'intense chaleur à tous les niveaux. Je tiens également à remercier Nicoletta qui parle très bien Anglais et a pu nous faire partager ses connaissances de la région (lieux à visiter et l'histoire de ces lieux), lors d'une soirée fort sympathique autour de la piscine, organisée par Franco et Patricia. Bravo à tous les trois. Nous reviendrons, c'est certain. Dominique/Véronique/Aymeric et Loic.
