Beachfront | Hot Tub | Private Walkover

Salt + Light is a home inspired by rest, slowing down, and living a simple life. This home has panoramic, unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico and the beach is steps away via the private dune walkover. It is a cozy retreat for couples, friends, and families to come enjoy the comfort and beauty that the ocean brings.

We invite you to build memories together in this house. You are welcome here.

The space

This home is created with your people in mind. The light and comfortable interior removes the "noise" of the world outside and lets you enjoy the simple things—the things that matter the most.

You and your tribe can gather around the large dining table and bar, that can comfortably seat 13, to share meals, stories, and laughter. The kitchen has granite countertops, is equipped with stainless steel appliances, and full of all the necessities to make your favorite meals and drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, and margaritas!).

Ample windows throughout the house let the light pour in. Five bedrooms have enough space for each one of you. 3 king beds, 2 full bunk beds, and 4 twin beds—all equipped with the comfiest memory foam mattresses and bedding.

Walk out on the 2nd and 3rd story decks to enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean. It's the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee on the lounge chairs or have a meal on the teak wood table. A beautiful place to breathe in the clean salt air.

This home is family friendly and is equipped with a pack-n-play and children's toys/books. Included with your rental, there are plenty of fun in the sun toys including two kayaks, numerous beach toys, boogie boards and so much more.

After your day at the beach, wash the sand away in the private shower, equipped with hot water. Enjoy time spent in the sun or watching the sunset on the wood decks, playing basketball on the full size goal, or grilling on the heavy duty charcoal grill.

The design, textiles, and materials are all designed for your rest, your retreat, and your experience of the salt + light. We can't wait for you to be here.

This house is everything it is advertised to be! The views from the upper and lower deck are stunning and it’s just a short walk over the bridge to the beach. 3 generations, including 2 toddlers, had a blast! The home is clean and well appointed with lots of kitchen implements. Stackable washer/dryer and games for the adults and kiddos. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay and hope to be back again!

We loved the location. The view of the water and sound of the waves added to our stay! It was very well stocked with all the necessities! The air conditioner worked great and was nice after a long day in the sun! And there was plenty of hot water for a family of nine! We would definitely stay in this beach home again! A Family Favorite Four Times and Counting

We’ve stayed at this property four times. Each of these times was just as wonderful as the first. Everything works as expected. The beds are comfy. The living room is fantastic. My SIL and I both got really into smoothies…I brought my own blender, but it went unused because the house had two different blenders that worked fantastically. We also decided to do “sloppy chicken” (like pulled pork, but with chicken) one of our nights. I brought a slow cooker, but again, it went unused because the house had one (no timer) that did the job!All this to say, check the listing to see what appliances the home has. I’m certain if it’s listed, it works as expected. That’s just how well the house is maintained. Can’t wait for next year!

Great Place!

Salt + Light was a blessing! Our family getaway involved 4 generations from age 1 to 86, and this home worked well for everyone! Terrific location! So close to the beach. Comfy beds and big kitchen. Stairs were safe to navigate. Powder room on main floor was perfect. We loved your soaps throughout!😂 Property managers were extremely kind, helpful, and very quick to respond throughout the process from booking to during our stay. We've rented several places in Galveston, and this is definitely a favorite. furniture

Salt and Light was amazing!

We had a boys trip to Salt and Light and it was absolutely perfect! The beach is in a great location and is relatively secluded. The house is gorgeous and has tremendous views with plenty of space and toys to make the stay a very enjoyable experience. Absolutely planning on booking this house again at some point!

Beach Gathering

Property was slightly less than expected. While the kitchen is great, beds very comfortable, and there are loads of beach toys and paraphernalia, the porches are not overly comfortable and the cracked deck chairs need replacing. The biggest disappointment was that the advertised car-free beach was anything but. The beautiful views were ruined.

Great beach house!

We've been renting beach houses for 30 years and this was, without a doubt, the cleanest! It truly was spotless. We loved the well stocked garage area with the kayaks, boogie boards, coolers and tons of beach toys for our grandddaughter. It's rare to have a rental with nice non-stick pans and very clean dishes. It was nice to have both diahwasher and laundry detergent provided. Another benefit of this house is no motor vehicles can use the section of beach in front of the house.

Great Stay

We had a great week at Salt and Light Beach House with our family. We have vacationed in Galveston for many years and the house was well stocked with all the amenities, cooled well, and slept all of us comfortably. 5 Stars!

Family reunion

The house and view were beautiful. We all enjoyed our stay. We liked the rocking chairs on the main balcony. My only suggestion would be to raise the height of the railing as the bannister was at eye level blocking the view. ( I realize the height of the railing is by code ). Bar stools would also work.

The house was great. We were told no vehicles were allowed on the beach in front of the house but the beach patrol did nothing about cars driving on the beach. NOT the fault of the property owner. Definitely would stay here again. 3 families: 6 adults & 3 kids. Plenty of space for everyone. Adults all had king beds

Literally can NOT go wrong with this place

The house, location and hospitality were everything I hoped it would be and more. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were OUTSTANDING but the big surprise was all of the beach gear at our disposal. Everything from kayaking to sand castle building… this place had it all.. I highly recommend this house

Perfect Location - parking meh

The house is amazing! Layout is perfect for multiple families, plenty of room, very clean. The outdoor shower with hot/cold water is a huge bonus. Beds were all comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about the house or location. Just one phrase of caution: parking is tight. Two cars are fine, three is ok, but more than that is tight.

Great House, Terrific Location

This was a great beach house in a perfect location for our family vacation. The beach was just a few steps away and the house had plenty of space and all the amenities for both adults and children. The host, Jason, was very friendly and responsive. We will definitely be back to Salt + Light!

Weekend trip to the beach

Our overall experience was excellent. We phoned the homeowner when we discovered the walkway was partially overgrown. He did his best to get this remedied, but it was a neighboring rental group that took care of the issue. Also, the beds were harder those those to which we are accustomed, so our sleeping experience wasn’t the best. But the new owner was a jewel with whom to work, and responded almost immediately to questions. We couldn’t have asked for kinder landlords for our weekend trip to the beach! We previously rented this house and have always enjoyed the amenities and responses from the homeowners! It is exceedingly well-stocked!

Thought of everything

Really enjoyed this home! They have everything you could desire in a vacation home. Kitchen is very well stocked. Great dining seating. Beautiful view. The only drawback is the parking. Parking is super limited and hard to get by the house at the front of the driveway. Overall a great experience!

Wonderful!

We've stayed at many homes in Galveston. This is a GEM. The owners are nice, the home is immaculate, the beds are comfortable, it is right on the beach, the walk over is in great condition without weeds all over it, the kitchen is big and well stocked, the outdoor shower has warm water, the view from the patios on both levels is PERFECT and the TV and internet work - EASILY - and without effort or disruption. We loved it!
