"I had a very bad experience from start to finish in this property.. I don't recommend it to anyone.. The property is located on the 3rd floor and the lift was Not working.. No hot water in the bathroom ( I didn't have shower for all the period I stayed there, ( I reported the problem to the cleaner who tried to fix it by herself but she couldn't ).. The toilet seat was cracked so every time I used the toilet, the toilet seat pinched my bottom and that was very painful.. No reception desk so...

"We enjoyed our stay! Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was our favorite thing. The cons: our room was fairly small and you had to step up another level to get into the bathroom. Because of this, in the middle of the night, my husband fell and cut his arm badly. The staff was very nice though, and tried to take care of the cut. It was hard to find the doors Into the hotel and the doors out of the hotel if that makes sense."

"Hotel Smeraldo is a hidden gem in a perfect Location to all the major sites. Restaurants we’re just steps away from hotel. All the staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to assist you. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Rome to stay there. Another huge plus is the rooftop bar and restaurant. Very quaint and inviting."

"Unfortunately, our experience at Mama’s Home Rome was very disappointing. Andrea was extremely unhelpful and even appeared to fake a back injury to avoid assisting us with our luggage up several flights of stairs. While the bathroom was modern and nicely renovated, the rest of the apartment felt somewhat dirty, uncomfortable, and not particularly well maintained. Overall, we would never stay here again and would strongly recommend choosing one of the many better accommodations available...

"This is a little B & B not a hotel. We were dropped off and surprised as it was inside an apartment building. But boy once we went inside it was lovely! We got to experience an authentic night in Rome. Thankful our journey took us to this little B&B. We had an early morning flight and our host took care of setting up transportation and even made sure we had a bite of breakfast early morning. She gave us tips on where to shop and even set up dinner reservations."

"air conditioning worked great, beds were comfy and room wasn’t too horribly tight, great for a group of two. beautiful location to get around, very central and easy to navigate. when we checked in, the staff gave us great recommendations and a map. they also sent recommended restaurants for surrounding areas. a nice espresso bar and a snack area. lovely hotel and would recommend."

"Very nice little hotel on a quiet side street in Rome. Only a handful of rooms, but it's quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is very nice. We did not try the attached bistro, but everything we saw looked good."
