This cozy yet airy retreat boasts high ceilings and panoramic views of both the sea and bay, offering the perfect backdrop for relaxation.



The Space:

Inside, the bungalow blends comfort and character, with thoughtfully curated decor that enhances its laid-back, beachy charm. Whether you're unwinding in the inviting living space or enjoying the fresh sea breeze from the deck, every moment here feels like a getaway.

EASY CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: It's easy to stay with us and secure too! Access the home electronically at 4pm on the date of your arrival with your unique lock code that we specifically give only to you via text and email. Your code is live from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure.

The 979 Crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by Galveston Island on one end and Surfside Beach on the other. On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time!



Getting Around:

SAN LUIS PASS:

San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized" time with family, extended family, and friends!

Every home is fully and professionally cleaned after each guest stay. In addition, all of our homes feature luxury hotel-quality/high thread count on all sheets, bedding, and bath towels which are replaced upon every turnover including the duvet covers and shams (we've heard not every company does this, and we think that's just gross). We take clean seriously! When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!



🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:

Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.



WIFI/TV SERVICE:

Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required! 



CANCELLATION POLICY:

For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.



After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

This place is in a great location. Easy access to the beach. Very quiet and family friendly. The house is not perfect, but it is priced accordingly. Everything worked and we had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were super comfortable. AC worked great. Everything was super clean. Would definitely stay here again. The only suggestion we had would be to add televisions to the bedrooms. The only tv is in the living room.

Memorial weekend, Memories

House fully equipped with what was needed for our family weekend. Beds were comfortable. Living and dining area accommodated 6 adults and 1 child during dinner time. Home was registered for 4 adults and 1 child, but we had company one evening and all were impressed with home. I didn't think ahead, but an elevator would have been nice, since spouse has a disability. A short walk to beach, loaded up wagon and off for Sun and Sand. This weekend was low tide and plenty of seaweed to walk on. Wish county cleaned up, but oh well. Yes I will Return. Loved our Stay. Thanks for hosting your private home.

Stay at this property if you don’t mind taking all the trash that you accumalate throughout your stay, to a dumpster that is NOT within walking distance from the property. Upon arrival we read in a "Welcome" binder of the rules to adhere to and were unaware that we were responsible to remove the trash and put in a dumpster located 5-6 blocks away. Also, the TV was missing from the main bedroom (turned face down in main bedroom closet). The welcome binder had a handwritten note, that the property owner was in the process of replacing it. This should have been taken care of before our arrival for my husband's birthday weekend stay. This beach rental is outdated and in need of renovations and upgrades. Bedroom doors have a significant peeling of wood and the floors look unfinished from an incomplete repair. Advice to reach out to property owner or management company if these issues have been resolved before considering to rent. They were not willing to work with us for some kind of compensation. We will not be renting this property or any other under this management company again.

Pretty cute little house

We had a great time staying at this cozy little beach house. Everything was as it was stated in the description. The only suggestions we had are oven mitts, maybe some sort of bath mat (we hated using a towel for this) - not important. And the last suggestion would be for maybe a lighter bed covering alternative. The bed was beautiful but the comforter was stifling. We would gladly stay here again!
