Gites la Maison des Contes, is a charming country house, located in the Loire Valley, in Francueil, 1km from Chenonceuax, within an area of almost 1 hectare, has 6 rooms (14 people) distributed in 2 independent apartments .

The property also has an outdoor pool (11 meters x 6 meters) open from May to October.

Casa del Arte is close to many tourist sites, such as the Chenonceaux Castle and the Cher River, 5 minutes by car, 10 by bike; Amboise, Le Clos Luce, Montresor, Montpoupon, Loches 20 minutes by car; Beauval Zoo, Blois, Chambord, Chinon, Langeais, Samur, Tours 40 minutes by car.

Why "House of Art"?, its owner Philosopher and Collector lived in Africa, Latin America and Oceania, the objects and paintings that decorate the property connect us with the history of those places, in addition Christopher Emmanuel Bouchet, 1 Painter of the Berlin Wall lived 7 years on the property, the fourth of the stories was painted by him in that period: access to his paintings, sculptures, bibliography is possible. The property's gardens are decorated with sculptures such as the Sun, The boy who rises to the moon, the Eye of the Cyclops.

On the second floor we find the suite with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

The "Bedroom of Tales" of 22 m2 (1 bed 160x200 cm with 1 duvet of 200 x 200, 4 pillows and 2 beds of 90 x 200 cm, two comforters of 120x200 and 2 pillows).

The "Pink Bedroom" of 12 m2 (1 bed of 130 x 190 cm with 1 duvet of 160 cm x 200 cm and 4 pillows).

Beautiful inside and out

The property is very much as advertised. The main room is large with high ceilings, full of interesting art, and cool even on hot days. The two bedrooms are upstairs, and the larger one is very big and stunningly painted. The kitchen is attached and well equipped, and there is a nice covered terrace next to it. The garden is very large, children can play there for hours. The swimming pool is ideal for a family, with both a shallow part (90cm?) for the younger ones and a deeper part for more experienced swimmers. The water and pool are kept in good condition. The whole is located on the outskirts of the pleasant village. Good bakery and small grocery located within walking distance The hostess Leticia is very kind and welcoming.

Toller Aufenthalt mit sehr netter Vermieterin

Wir haben tolle Tage im Kunst-Haus verbracht. Die Vermieterin war sehr bemüht, dass wir uns wohlfühlen. Das Anwesen ist einzigartig - insbesondere der Pool war eine gute Abwechslung nach unseren Ausflügen. Der Ort ist gut gelegen, sodass man zügig die Schlösser und z.B. den Zoo besuchen kann. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit! Vielen Dank!

Chenonceaux et la vie de Chateau

Nous avons séjourner 4 nuits dans le gite "la maison des contes" et ce fut un enchantement. La décoration intérieure incroyable donne l'impression de vivre la vie d'un chatelain. Le parc et la piscine (immense) contribue à donner à ce séjour des couleurs de douceurs et de calme. La proximité immédiate de Chenonceaux est un vrai plus (nous ne conduisons pas). Notre hôte nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et cela a été un vrai plaisir de partager des moments de discussion. Merci encore Olivier et Alice

Sejour came à proximité Chateau de Chenonceau

La batisse est belle. La décoration surprenante mais charmante. La piscine est très belle situé dans un grand parc. L'accueil est chaleureux , discret et attentionné. Que du bonheur.

Familienurlaub Juli 2020

Ein rundum perfekter Urlaub. Das Anwesen bietet 2 Ferienunterkünfte, wir waren jedoch die einzigen Mieter und hatten den riesigen Garten und den Pool für uns allein. Das Haus hat einen etwas altertümlichen Charme, was jedoch zusammen mit den vielen Kunstwerken den ganz besonderen Reiz ausmacht. Unsere jüngste Tochter (10) hat besonders das Märchenzimmer gefallen. Leticia spricht perfekt deutsch und ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die sich herzlich um uns und unsere Wünsche gekümmert hat. Das Haus liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Schloss Chenonceau, wo man mit gemieteten Kajaks auf der Cher unter dem Schloss durchpaddeln kann. Mit unseren Fahrrädern konnten wir leicht das Schloss Montpoupon und das Schloss Royal d‘Amboise erreichen. Eine rundum gelungene Woche. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Beautiful home with wonderful hosts!

Our family of five really enjoyed our four-night stay at Maison des Arts House, and particularly appreciated the very warm hospitality of Leticia and her son, Alex. We were welcomed to their spacious, clean, and well-appointed home and shown around the absolutely lovely grounds. The pool was a wonderful bonus during the hot summer days. We loved hanging out together with our hosts, conversing over wine and cheese. The only downside was the absence of fans, especially in the upstairs bedrooms, which were stifling hot with the windows closed, and bug magnets with the windows opened. Overall, this was a wonderful base for our exploration of the Loire Valley chateaux. Thank you, Leticia and Alex! We hope to see you again!

Elegant site from which to explore Chenonceau and the banks of the Cher.

Leticia's residence (actually two adjoining residences, but the other was vacant while we were there) is beautifully and artistically furnished and decorated. It comes very well equipped with everything you might need, and it has an extensive and beautifully landscaped garden where the birds never stop singing (and, very notably, a resident cuckoo bird that we first thought must be a living-room clock.) Of the two bedrooms, one is classically decorated, while the walls of the second are covered in original art depicting various fairy tales. Although there is a second bathroom downstairs, the two bedrooms (on the upper floor) share a nicely appointed bathroom with a spacious tub and hand-held shower fixture. This is the perfect launching place for visits to the castle (2 km distant -- go either at the 9 A.M. opening or, as we did, at 4 or 5 P.M., as the crowds leave well before the 7 P.M. closing.) The high point for us was the bike trip that took us from the castle to nearby Bleré (about a 9-mile round trip.) We recommend renting your bike from the Canoe company downstream from the castle. For 10 euros for a 4-hour half-day, you get an excellent 24-speed bike (unlike the clunky 3-speed bikes we have seen elsewhere in France.) There are various places to eat in relatively easy reach, but our favorite was very close by: les Charmilles (tasty pizza and salads as well as many other dishes.) The one issue we had was that the wi-fi did not work in the house for the first two days of our stay. Leticia was very helpful in assisting us to find a work-around (even though she was out of the country at the time). I was convinced that the problem was that the router was unable to penetrate the thick stone walls of the residence, but on the third day, the wi-fi suddenly started to work even in the house, so I am completely mystified as to the source of the problem or how it was fixed. The point is that Leticia did everything possible to address that concern, and that in every other respect, this was for us the ideal place to stay. A beautiful and enchanting place, not to be missed.
