"The thermostat to the radiators didn’t work so we couldn’t turn the temperature down and were therefore uncomfortably hot and got limited sleep. The mattress added to the lack of sleep as it was very uncomfortable. The door to our room you could close from the inside with a hard shove but you couldn’t close from the outside so we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room. "Beautiful, large bedroom, comfortable bed, stunning view. Everything spotlessly clean. Exceptional bathroom. There was a problem with the toilet which was sorted by the time I came back from my day out and about. Friendly breakfast servers. I asked for more milk for my room, which they happily provided. Parking in the street wasn't an issue, costing £18 per day. Great location."

"I did request a set of clean towels which I never got ??? My view from my room 129 of the air conditioning vents is not what I really expected. other than that all was good."

"We just had a standard double room, I was suprised how nice it was for the price. The hotel itself is lovely, such a beautiful place. There are a few animals outside to feed, an outdoor bar area. The bar inside is great and reasonably priced. The food is AMAXING "

"If you’re disabled or just an older guest beware the rooms have not been reviewed by an appropriate person. I found the bathroom a death trap. No grab rails in the shower but the worst was the slippery floor in the toilet with nothing to grab onto when struggling to arise from the toilet. My husband had to help me but not before on making an attempt my feet slipped and I finished up with a nasty fall and a now painful back. At 2am I had to ring reception I was frozen- the radiator didn’t work...

"Well situated. Hotel felt a bit dated but we got a good rate so I guess that reflects it. Staff were friendly but service a little slow and inefficient. We had two rooms for our family. My room was fine but the second room the shower didn’t drain and flooded the bathroom which was a nuisance. I slept perfectly well but it would have been nice to be able to change the temperature- the panel in my bedroom didn’t seem to work. Rooms were clean but looked like they could do with a refurb. "

"Room which was at the front of the property overlooked the car park. Single glazed windows which you could hear absolutely everything happening outside from but also which rattled throughout the night with the wind. Found the mattress uncomfortable and on the firm side for me so taking everything into account, had a very disrupted sleep. Was woken abruptly by a fire alarm going off for a few seconds. Limited choices at breakfast but tasted ok. "

"Staff excellent. Setting beautiful. We stayed in the old house which had real charm, but was a little tired. Beyond the historic house is a conference centre, with spa. We ate an evening meal in the 1744 restaurant which was well priced and very tasty. "

"The room looked like a hospital room that was under renovation. The beds were also very uncomfortable - you could actually feel the springs in the mattress. "
