Hotels a Fountainhall, Galashiels

"We really enjoyed our one-night stay. It was a short visit, but everything was lovely and comfortable. Our dog especially loved the bed! 🐶❤️ The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even nicer. We also really enjoyed the breakfast — I was especially happy to see sunny-side-up eggs! 😊 Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. We would definitely be happy to stay again."

"We traveled to Scotland to experience OLD WORLD charm and history. This hotel was not what we expected. It is totally renovated with new materials. It was very presentable, but the staff was very upper echelon oriented and the vibe was upscale which I tend to avoid. The food taste and quality was not up to the standards they presented. The room had no air conditioning, only heat and it was warm on our visit. Overall, this hotel was very nice, but not what we were wanting to experience as a...

"This is a lovely, old barony house. It is not a pristine chain hotel. Give yourself plenty of time to roam the house and grounds. This place is breathtaking! Staff was mostly helpful, though we requested a whisky tasting, were told they'd inquire and let us know, but never did (we assumed that meant no). Dinner service was very slow the evening we were there, with very few other people. Bar drinks had to be requested more than once before they arrived. Wait staff was not very attentive. Food and...

"Check in was chaotic and our evening meal booking was lost! This meant a late evening dining time. When I got to my room it was obvious the bathroom had not been cleaned (see photo of Bath plug) This was disgusting and reported to reception but it took another day before resolution. No offer was made to change room or compensation. I have since left messages with manager to try to discuss this issue but had no response which is extremely disappointing and very unprofessional. I would not come...

"Convenient"

"Good breakfast but the amenities are not modern. By the road, bus stop right across the facility. Their people are their strongest strength"

"Super friendly staff, right on the course, restaurant/bar and good breakfast. What else could you want?"

"Very friendly staff. Exceptionally clean and quiet room. Comfortable bed. Conveniently located & close to Waverly Center & Royal Mile."

"A unique and beautiful place to stay. We weren’t there long but wish we could have stayed a couple more days"

"Very helpful staff. Good food. Excellent location."

"Room was very clean. Fee parking. Host is very friendly. Convenient location, close to bus stop going to the city center."

"Our stay at Dorstan House was perfect. On site parking a huge bonus, so easy to get the bus from the end of the street into the city (using the App - fabulous). Our bedroom had what looked like a brand new shower room, exceptionally clean. Next time we'd have a twin room as a double bed is too small for us, but otherwise it was brilliant. And having a cafetiere for coffee is a lovely touch, as was the breakfast tray with porridge, croissant, cereal bar and satsuma! Would definitely return on our...
