The Oyster is located in SE downtown fort Walton Beach ,right off the Miracle Strip Parkway. The Oyster is a Historic cozy little cottage in a quiet setting and is also in walking distance of fantastic restaurants and fun filled night life. The Oyster has a cozy living room and spacious kitchen area with a washer and dryer area right at your fingertips. There is a beautiful front porch for relaxing with a cool beverage and good book or cooking a burger on the grill. A large bedroom with two full beds and full bathroom just off the bedroom area. There is a huge yard so if you are traveling with boats, jet skis, or campers this is the place for you! Plenty of room for parking .
The Oyster is a short walk from Highway 98 “The Miracle strip “ This area is lined with some of the best restaurants, shopping and night life in the area. The Fort Walton Beach Landing is also in walking distance it is know for the famous Billy Bowlegs Festival that happens in the beginning of May in fact The Torch light Parade lines the road in front of the Historic Oyster Cottage during that time. The Oyster is located 3 minutes away from Okaloosa Island, you will go over the Brooks Bridge that overlooks the intercoastal waterway where you will find the world’s most beautiful beaches with emerald green waters and sugar white sand . Okaloosa island also has fantastic dining with world famous restaurants ,shopping, and loads of fun! For the sportsman’s that didn’t bring your boat there is also the Okaloosa Island Pier, so much fun fishing off the huge pier that goes into the Gulf of Mexico! For those that do bring your boat you are about 10 minutes away from Destin east pass, where the fishing is ! once known as Florida’s Famous little fishing village now is one of the most sought vacation destination in the country. The Harbor walk is located by the Destin East Pass and it is lined with boat ,paddle board, wave runners, and parasailing rentals ,restaurants, shopping , arcades, and spas . World Famous Crab Island is also located there and the party is waiting on you, remember….. what happens at Crab Island stays at Crab Island lol ! Fishing , fun , and relaxing by the beautiful beach it doesn’t get any better.

First of all, I want to clarify that my family slept over for one night of the three nights that i had rented the cottage.Unfortunately, my stay there could have been better. The cottage was pretty dirty. There is a trail of ants in the doorway between the kitchen and livingroom. The ice dispenser was frozen over. The portable ice maker on the counter was very dirty. I had to wash any dishes that I had used because the coffee cup I pick up from the cabinet had some kind of scum. There is a round thing attached to the inside of the screen door that scrapped my son's arm, causing injury. I'll just say that the front porch was also pretty dirty.That is what I can remember at the moment. Usually if I can't think of anything nice to say, I don't say anything. I couldn't let this one go. I splurged on this trip to see my son on his birthday and, for me, that was a lot of money for three nights. Too bad because this place has a lot of potential.

Everything was clean, the area was very quiet, about 7 minutes from the beach by car. The owner was very friendly and answered all our questions quickly.

Perfect place

Couldn’t find a better spot to keep a boat and have all the convenience’s of home , well definitely stay there again. Very convenient to Destin. House was well stocked with towels , detergent , dishes and such.

Walkable Neighborhood

I was instantly disappointed in this rental. Outdated to say the least. Yard not cared for (found someone's bikini bottoms in the grass near the back porch). Living room had frat house vibes with heavy leather sofas. Flooring was soft in places. We had to cover up a protruding nail head. Screen on door was broken. Knob missing from screen door nearly ripped my dress. Uncomfortable bed.Thankful we did not spend much time there.Nice, walkable or bikeable neighborhood. Did not appreciate the neighbors dog barking profusely at 6am daily. Sleeping in was not an option. Owner supplies a good amount of beach necessities such as coolers, umbrella, boogie board.

I was looking for quite some time for a nice place for my gals and I to stay for our beach trip and this certainly was the place! It’s in a great location! Close to everything and the owners are very kind and respond swiftly! Only downfall is the house is a little run down but that didn’t stop us from having an amazing time!

Convenience and cozy

My family and I enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed the convenience of having our dogs with us and close access to everything we wanted to see! Wish the yard was fenced in only because the dogs from the neighbors house roam free and we had two incidents walking our dogs out to use the bathroom and running into unleashed dogs from next door. Could use a bit of updating but the hosts were extremely helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had.

Peaceful little spot

Is a little bit older home but nice location and a very attentive owner to any needs you may have. Only 5 min or so from public beach and gulf seashore we loved. If we go back to panhandle of Florida we would stay again.

Disgusting. VRBO didn't care.

This home has sagging/rotting, uneven floors and stairs. Not a cute cottage made to look rustic. The tin is falling off. The stove was disgusting. I got a hotel room instead and called VRBO, who connected me to the owner who was (as expected) less than happy with our convo. No refund was issued as promised. Further contact attempts ignored.

Cute Little House!

One of my best friends and I stayed here from Wed-Sat. Perfect house for those wanting to save a little money, yet still stay in a nice place! All the household items (paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, laundry detergent, dish soap etc) were provided in enough quantities if you wanted to use them. The couches were comfy, the beds were comfy. Overall, very nice and convenient place. The property owner was super responsive to messages about any questions we had. She even had a Walmart delivery for extra items if we needed them! Highly recommend!

So very clean. Having a washer and dryer was wonderful. However the kitchen floor needed fixed as well as the frig. The frig kept blowing the circuit breaker and it had to be re set about twice a day. Would and will book again. Thank you

Oyster Shell

Very grateful we could bring our dog, we were there for nephew’s wedding. Last 3 days our grandson didn’t want to go home early so he stayed with us. We were pleasantly surprised when one of the days we barely made it to the driveway because of the Pirate Parade! We All thought that was awesome! For the price it was worth it…we also enjoyed walking through the old cemetery across the street, historical.

Ideal location. Very clean except for a couple dead roaches. The A/C worked, but it never got cool, so I would bring a fan next time. This place had nice utilities and had everything we needed for a great stay.
