This is our fifth visit to the Emerald Isle at Okaloosa Island. We normally stay in the building next door, but it is undergoing balcony remodeling. So, we decided to take a chance and stay at Pelican Isle this visit. The unit overall (309) was okay. However, attention needs to be made to cleanliness. The tile flooring and laminate flooring need to be scrubbed and cleaned. After walking around barefoot the first evening, my feet were black. The balcony sliding door track has mold and dirt and really needs to be addressed. The kitchen was stocked okay. A Keurig would have been nice. There was enough toilet paper so that was appreciated. There were also miniature bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion and makeup remover pads. The unit is located just outside the elevator. It can become quite noisy at different times of the day and night. And people have a tendency to slam their doors. The staff at Pelican Isle are very friendly and helpful. And of course, the beach service was great as always. We love this location on the beach because of its beauty and watching the dolphins. We appreciate that there were units available to rent while Island Sands was being remodeled.
