A true oceanfront home that others are compared to! The Lighthouse is a treat for everyone who stays here with ocean views from practically every room in the house. One step into the foyer and you are greeted by vaulted ceilings, high windows and expansive ocean views. Large ocean side decks run the length of the house...perfect for gathering, eating or just lounging about. Open floor plan includes the great room, dining room and kitchen to create easy flow and multiple gathering spots for family and friends, all with an ocean view. Spacious kitchen layout with center island is nice for preparing large meals. House amenities include WIFI internet, large TV's, and a powerful blender.

First level master suite has king bed and private bathroom with shower and a garden tub. Also on the first, main level is a twin bed guestroom that doubles as the kids media room and opens to the porch. Upstairs has 2 guest bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. 3rd bonus room is smaller and does not have a closet. All have 3 rooms have queen size beds, two of the rooms with private oceanfront deck access. This home is very clean and comfortable for your family gathering!

Located 5 blocks from Folly's 'Center Street,' it is an easy walk down the beach to the fishing pier and all the shops and restaurants, yet far enough from the bustle of the town. Off-street parking underneath the house is the perfect place to leave your car and all your worries. Bring games, puzzles and cards, but be prepared to do as little as possible! Just a short, 25-minute drive will have you to historical, downtown Charleston, SC to enjoy all of the charm that the Holy City has to offer.

We prefer a minimum of 4-night stay reservations. This home is non-smoking and Not pet-friendly. No events allowed that exceed the maximum occupancy of the home. Must be 25 years or older to rent, no exceptions. No gatherings allowed that exceed the maximum occupancy of the home. Please contact us if you have any questions. We were four couples who were attending a wedding in Charleston. The house was perfect for the eight of us. Layout was great, kitchen fully stocked, and a wonderful view of the ocean. The place was very clean.

Thanksgiving

We arrived the Sunday before Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday there as we are from Asheville, NC & still in recovery from Helene. The home was clean & welcoming upon our arrival. There was also a pumpkin pie waiting for us in the kitchen! The views are beyond fabulous & you can’t beat the location. We were there with both of our children, their spouses and our amazing granddaughter for this trip. We had room to spare. The home is well equipped & the property management was quick to respond to our needs and requests. (We needed a few bathroom light bulbs) As in previous reviews, the home could use some updating like better blinds, new rugs & fitted sheets for the king/main bedroom. All in all the views make up for that. We had a great week and would visit again. S. From Asheville

Lovely stay

This house was in a perfect location. Right in the beach and easily walkable to the restaurants and shops. The house was very clean and everything they said was provided was provided. No complaints, would stay there again!

Beach front beauty

House had gorgeous views and plenty of space/bathrooms/bedroom. We loved all the decks and windows! Lack of screens was a huge problem. Especially in November when you’d love to get a cool breeze, the doors could not be left open due to bugs. Like others have said, it is definitely dated but this really did not bother us. With the beach front location, you can’t ask for more. Easy walk to town!! The tv situation was really confusing, but someone did stop by promptly to help with it. I asked about early check in a few times and it would have been helpful if they notified us if we could NOT check in early vs only contacting us if we could (which they didn’t). Otherwise amazing stay with friends, and would highly recommend!!!

Great Stay!

Overall, this house was beautiful and the views are amazing! The house lacked the essentials such as trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels and we didn’t appreciate having to buy them. Beds not comfortable. All the while definitely worth the stay!

Large house and beach steps away

The house is very big and steps from beach. Kitchen fully stocked with equipment. While the view was incredible, it seemed to lack a few amenities for the price. Doors didn’t have screens so couldn’t stay open without bugs coming in, no beach towels, photos show 2 lounge chairs and none were there, couldn’t use grill. Overall a great place to stay, but amenities could be better for the price.

Great location

We had a great week here on Folly Beach. The location is great, right on the beach, and we enjoyed sitting on the big deck in the mornings and at night. The place’s decor, bathrooms and furniture are dated and could use modernizing and sprucing up. We could have used more seating in the main room. Responsive property manager, and the listing doesn’t say it but there is a gas grill on the property which was a pleasant surprise. Reasonable accommodations for the price overall.

Lighthouse at Folly Bay

Great location and views! Perfect for for a family gathering. On the negative side outdoor furniture needs repair, TV’s are almost impossible to manage with multiple remotes and kitchen lacked enough pits and pans, garbage bags and paper towels.

Our kind of place

We had a great time. The place was wonderful!!! That being said , I want to address the negative reviews I read. If you expect everything in the house to be like new it isn't. The house is 30 years old! Most everything has been updated but not everything. What's important to me has. New deck, appliances, sliding doors, beds, water pressure, hvac, fresh paint, furniture. Nice smell. CLEAN! The layout of the home is exactly what I would do if I was to build one. So to those negative reviews I say quit being so picky

We have stayed in this house for several years.

This year we found that after running one load of laundry that the laundry room flooded which I texted the agency about but never heard back. Also there was one bedroom with no light bulbs in the lamps and the bulbs in the dining room flickered like a strobe light. It was disorienting and made it hard to use the dining room.

Lighthouse - Nice property, but showing it's age.

The property was as advertise, except it did have a gas grill. Other reviews noted the property is "tired", and that it is. It could use a spruce up (paint, modernize the kitchen, better TV). Met our needs and we would consider staying there again.

Great location, close to town, working with Carolina properties was wonderful. They responded to our messages promptly. The house was well equipped, except for an iron. We had an ironing board, but no iron. Other than that minor issue, we had no complaints.

Annual Family Gathering 2023

Location was perfect. The accommodations/bedrooms definitely met the needs of our family. They were amazing views of the ocean from many of the bedrooms as well as the deck and the gathering space. Management company was super helpful and responsive. Some family members did find their beds uncomfortable including flat pillows specifically the twin bedroom beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable and an upstairs bed has a moderate roll toward the middle of the bed slant on it. For the size of our group, nine people, the gathering area space furniture was not adequate. There was only seating for a maximum of six people. We also found that the furniture was not especially comfortable for longer sitting time such as the length of a movie. One of our family members noted that the home could use a deep cleaning including replacing or significantly cleaning the air vents. None of this prevented us from enjoying our time there. It is definitely on the list of properties we would consider for our visit next year.

Five million dollar view

Brian and Kayla were amazing - so quick to respond to requests and minor concerns and when I say EVERY issue was addressed I mean ever issue. This house is spacious and the view is absolutely breathtaking! The house needs a little updating and TLC but met ourneeds exactly. I would definitely book again and like I said could not have been more satisfied with the property management OUTSTANDING responsive service. For example: when we arrived there was a broken rocking chair on the deck - I called and spoke to Kayla and the next day by noon we had a new ricking chair which was important for us as we were traveling with an infant. Same response with every other concern ! The only reason. I gave 4 stars on cleanliness is there is what appears to be some mildew on a ceiling vent upstairs that could easily be addressed with bleach - thanks for a great stay!
