"Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Shanghai Marriott Marquis. The location is excellent and makes it a great base for exploring the city. Our room was a good size and offered the level of comfort you'd expect from a Marriott property. That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. Housekeeping was a little inconsistent. On more than one occasion, the soap or shower gel dispensers weren't refilled, and some glass surfaces still had water marks, as though they had only been wiped...

"The hotel is in a great location with everything nearby, and using the subway is very easy. It is a bit dated; we were initially given an old, noisy room, but were later moved to a much better one. Breakfast is good but nothing special, and the prices for the restaurant and services are extremely high considering the quality is merely average. I’m not sure if I would stay there again; I might look for another hotel near People's Square."
