Hawk’s View is a beautiful 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home in the gated Leatherwood Mountains community, offering stunning panoramic views from every room. The main level features a queen bedroom with a private bath, a half bath, and a fully equipped kitchen with picture windows for scenic dining. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king bed, and the other offers a full bed plus twin bunk beds—each with its own bathroom.

Relax in the cozy living room by the stone wood-burning fireplace or unwind on the front porch in a rocking chair. The large screened-in back porch is perfect for soaking in the mountain air. Fast WiFi is available throughout, and the home includes Netflix, board games, and reading nooks for cozy indoor fun.

Guests enjoy access to Leatherwood Resort amenities: a pool, tennis courts, pavilion, playground, fishing, tubing, biking, horseback riding, and 50+ miles of trails. A mountain stream can be heard from the porch in the early morning and evening hours, adding to the peaceful ambiance.

Hawk’s View is a serene, private retreat where your family can relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature. At night, the stars shine bright—reminding you that life is simpler from the Hawk’s View.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, playground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).


Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

Wonderful Getaway Cabin

Even though it rained during our stay, the view was magnificent and the hot tub was delightful. My wife and I really enjoyed our quiet getaway to this cabin and would come back again!

Breathtaking Views

House was well equipped & the views were breathtaking! The mattresses were not comfortable & we tried every bed. We could feel the springs & are still dealing with aching backs since. Other than that, we had a great trip there.

Perfect all the way around!!!

This was the perfect house for our family. The location has a beautiful view with an enormous deck and hot tub! My 10 year old loved the games that were there and if you stay you have to find the baby Yoda; he is somewhat hidden!

Great stay and home, just a couple minor negatives

Clean house, well stocked kitchen and plenty of space for the family! Only negatives were we didn’t have any firewood as listed or laundry detergent also listed. When we got back Saturday Afternoon the house had no power due to outages in the area. The owner got notifications but didn’t bother to share and when I called all of the numbers listed not one person picked up to help with the issue. We didn’t know if it was the rental out of power or the area. We were able to find flashlights and collect wood for warmth so good they had those! Really cool neighborhood. Definitely pack everything you need!

Beautiful Mountain Views, Bad Location for Toddlers

The cabin had beautiful views. The jacuzzi had fuzzy algae growing in it and the areas under couches were really dirty (typically, this wouldn't matter to us, but we had toddler toys go under there). Otherwise, the cabin was clean and comfortable. It is not an ideal location with toddlers, since the cabin is surrounded by steep cliffs with dramatic drops. So, people with toddlers, I recommend renting further down the mountain. A great stay for an adult getaway to the mountains, though!

We had a great family weekend. The Home has a stunning view and is peaceful and quiet. It was just what we needed! Wish we had more time to spend using the neighborhood activities and amenities. Very limited access to groceries and supplies, so be sure to bring what you need.

We Want to go Back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already talking about visiting again. Pros and Cons... **the view was magical **the hot tub was very nice and clean **the propane fire pit was a dream (it's nice to have a fire without smelling like smoke) **the house is very spacious **there are plenty of dishes and pans to use for cooking **the main deck is multi-level so you can sit out front in wet or dry conditions and enjoy the view **there was plenty of seating for everyone and the bedrooms and bathrooms were quite large **it was peaceful, and the resort overall is well manicured and very beautiful I gave Hawk's View 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of a few minor things and one major thing… *there were a lot of dead bugs in the window seals upstairs when we arrived *if it rains you can’t use the hot tub or the fire pit because neither are covered *THE BIGGIE* there were no window coverings for the bedrooms upstairs and, more importantly, the bathrooms upstairs. One of the showers had a large exterior window inside, so this was unacceptable. None of the ladies felt comfortable using it so that eliminated one bathroom for our group of 6. There really should be solid curtains or blinds in all the bedrooms and bathrooms whether or not they are on the upper floors. Hawk's View is a beautiful place and we want to go back!

Breathtaking View

We enjoyed the idyllic serenity of a well equipped and clean cabin. We hiked and enjoyed the hot tub. The restaurant is also great. All the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Beautiful!

Couldn't be happier with our visit! Check in was easy. Place was clean. Kitchen was stocked. We didn't have to bring anything. Hot tub was perfect. Beds were super comfortable. Nothing bad to say about this place and would definitely stay here again. Driveway is super steep, but it adds to the fun experience of being on a mountain! ONLY negative thing I have (not about the house, but with the pond that is advertised). One of the reasons I booked here was because they advertised about having a stocked pond. I have 5 kids that like to fish and let's just say...they could almost throw their lines across this pond. It's very tiny. We didn't catch a single fish for the 5 days we were there. We did find other locations to go fish.

Great place to get away from it all.

House was amazing. Was really nice to be able to get away from everyday life hassles. Just remember to bring everything with you that you will need so that you can just sit back and enjoy your surroundings.
