Gettysburg Family Retreat - 4 BR Pet Friendly!

Enjoy this beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bath country home with plenty of room to spread out. The home is 1 mile from Ski Liberty and a short drive from downtown Gettysburg. Featuring new appliances and flooring, comfortable beds and a wood burning fireplace, you will find all the comforts of home in a quiet country setting. Enjoy the all season sun porch, huge partially fenced yard, and many amenities that make this a very special place to stay. Dogs welcomed on a case-by-case basis.

You will find four comfortable bedrooms, two full bathrooms (one with a tub and one with a shower), a large fully equipped kitchen, a full dining room, and a beautiful eat-in all weather sun porch. One queen bedroom with full bath is located on the first floor of the home. The other three bedrooms and full bath are on the second floor.

There is a large yard that is partially fenced for your use. There is a pond on the property with a gazebo and a firepit. Enjoy evenings in the yard in a country setting.

The large living room features a large screen TV with cable channels. Wireless WIFI is offered throughout the house. Easy access to the battlefields and all that Gettysburg offers. Skiers and golfers will enjoy the convenience of Liberty Mountain Ski and Golf Resort being only 1 mile away. Take a ride through the beautiful countryside of Adams County and visit the wineries and enjoy the apple and peach orchards along the way.

7 miles to Downtown Gettysburg
1 hour drive to Harrisburg, PA (Farm Show Complex State Capital)
1 hour drive to Hershey Park

This is also a good starting point to add a visit to Washington, DC or Lancaster Dutch County. Both are approximately 70 miles away.

Gettysburg Family Retreat

A/C situation was not ideal in bedrooms. Family dining had to be split up due to lack of space. Enjoyed the outdoor space. Dishwasher not attached to countertop. Never saw any chickens. Beautiful location but a little too far away from stores & attractions.

Check in was super easy, the host had great communication. This area is amazing. The house was nice and would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area. The views from both front and back are amazing. The sunrise in the morning was great.

Nice location

Our overall stay was very nice, the property was beautiful. The house was very roomy which was great and it was an easy ride on 116 east to Gettysburg. We found a nice little Italian restaurant in Fairfield called Venturas for easy take home meals. Would stay here again.

Snowboarding getaway

Did a friend and family getaway to snowboard. This place was great it was exactly what we wanted. Simple and close. Kevin was awesome and accommodating. Will for sure return and recommend.

Great stay!

We had a nice time over Christmas! The house is wonderful, could use some updates. Could have been a tiny bit cleaner, but not bad. Just noticed lots of dust under the beds when I dropped something and had to go searching for it lol! Thank you for a great stay!

Old school charm

This property was perfect. With lots of space for my family. Property has a charm about it nestled in the country side. We loved watching the ski resort make snow and the sun rise over the mountains. It’s so quiet and peaceful would highly recommend! The property manager was great with communication and very accommodating.

We had a great time but the property requires some work

All in all we had a great time, but the house needs some work. In particular it was impossible to heat the house evenly. Either one of the rooms will get super hot or some of the rooms will be freezing. Additionally, more seating by the TV would be nice, and some better lighting in the main areas. The first shower is just old and the second shower is ultra small. Oh, and they don't supply hygiene products so bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Kevin, the property manager, was very responsive and easy to work with and the yard is just amazing.

Stink bugs

The house itself and location was great but once inside we saw, the house was full of stink bugs, crawling up and down the walls the curtains the beds. We did not stay one night and sent pictures to Vrbo and the host but only received a partial refund.

Great place for friends and family

Very clean home located in beautiful Adams County countryside. Perfect for three couples coming for Friendsgiving and Gettysburg events. A little trouble with the heat furnace but we figured it out. The property manager was responsive to our outreach. We would recommend the property and stay again. Thank you Tom and Kevin.

Happy campers!

House was just lovely & very clean (which is huge in my book) Location was only a few minutes from Gettysburg, very peaceful & relaxing. Huge fenced in yard for our friends dog to roam in. Bathrooms could use more hooks for wet towels, but everything else was very pleasant.

Great place in the country!

Several family members stayed and we had a great time. There was plenty of room for us to spread out. Beds were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. We spent time in Gettysburg and attended a wedding in Taneytown, MD. Location was excellent! Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and Clean, Nice Location

The house and property are clean and well kept. Great layout with the rooms. Light traffic flow. Enjoyed seeing the deer in the yard or across the street in the morning. (Got to see two fawns feeding from their mama right around the corner from the house.) Super easy drive in and out of Gettysburg. The only suggestion I would make is to bring a flashlight if you think you’ll be out after dark. While there is some outdoor lighting, we preferred more around where our vehicle was parked. Personal preference not a dealbreaker. The property host was very responsive and super easy to communicate with.

Gettysburg trip

We have stayed at many VRBO houses, and this by far was the cleanest home we have stayed in. No dust on the floors, or in the corners, the bathrooms spotless as well. The pictures on line are exactly what the house looks like. All the bedrooms are nice size. Kitchen and dining rooms are great. We had a small power outage, contacted the home owner and someone was there to fix the issue within 2 minutes. Could not have asked for better communication with the owner. My family discussed how nice it would be just to go to this house for a week of doing nothing but relaxing. Thank you for allowing us to experience this wonderful property. The Shaffer Family

Great Ski Weekend

We had a lovely stay at the Yellow Ski Lodge - easy 5 minute drive over to Liberty and a very comfortable property. My one complaint with Liberty is that their accommodations are limited. This property offered close access with some space and farm fresh eggs! Great stay, thank you!

loved the chickens

stayed at this home due to our son and his wife expecting a baby and they live in this area. Home was nice and big. Lots of room for 3 grandchildren under the age of 7. the kids loved the chickens wondering around. Weather could have been better since it rained and was foggy 2 of the days we stayed there. No can opener that we could find. Would have been nice to have more kitchen towels. We ran out of paper towels and toilet paper but lasted until we left. One bedroom has bathroom, but the sink is in the bedroom which was kind of awkward but functioned just fine. Was not a deal breaker. Beds were comfy and all made up with sheets and quilt comforters. Overall a lovely experience was had by all.

Weekend golf trip

Nice property in the country. Very peaceful. Rooms were nice. No central A/C so if you're renting in the summer, it may be warm in some if yhe bedrooms. Overall nice place to stay with chickens on property and possibility of fresh eggs!

Great location with wonderful space!

Adorable home with tons of living space! Beautiful sunroom, big living room with loads of space and an oversized dining room with a peaceful view of the pond. The location was perfect for spending the holiday in Taneytown with family! It was also a convenient location to get to Fairfield and Gettysburg for shops and restaurants. We won’t hesitate to come back again!

Perfect location to Liberty mountain resort

Just 3 mins from the slopes at Liberty mountain, the house is clean with more than enough space for 2 families with young kids to spread out.
