North Pole Cabin Retreat

Our North Pole Cabin Retreat is a great place to come for a day, a week, or a month or more. A person can experience life in Alaska in comfort. Our log cabin was built in 2002 and has had many guests over the years. We provide housing year round, and winter or summer the cabin is warm, dry, and safe. Running water is a must, as are clean comfortable beds. The cabin has two queen beds, kitchenette, full private bath, BBQ and picnic area outside. Parking is nearby. We are only 2 miles from grocery, dentist, medical, gas stations, gift shops, dining establishments, churches and bars. Although you are close to the comforts of everyday living, it will seem as if you are a long way out in the woods. We are located in a private, wooded property with a waterway flowing by. In summer there are many nesting ducks. There are many wild flowers growing all around, as well as hanging baskets of flowers we plant for your enjoyment.

A wonderful, cozy stay! The property consists of one building split into two rental cabins, but it still maintains a very quiet, secluded atmosphere. It’s conveniently located just 3-5 minutes from fuel, food, and shops. Nancy Peterson is an excellent host who provided clear directions and expert local advice the moment we booked. Thanks to her 'must-do' suggestions, we were able to plan our itinerary with ease. Highly recommended for a well-located getaway.

The cabin was perfectly seated in a cozy spot surrounded by trees. Went in msrch and the roads are covered in snow but well maintained for driving. Nancy was great and definitely made you feel welcomed. Highly recommend this cute cozy cabin and the hospitality nancy gives is 5 star.

Staying here was a huge part of what made our Alaska trip so special. It felt like living in our own private cabin in the woods but was just a few minutes from stores and restaurants. All this snow and cold is an unfamiliar environment to me but Nancy made us feel safe and comfortable and had lots of suggestions and helpful tips, and kept the driveway plowed and plugged in our car for us. Plus we really enjoyed visiting with her! I will always have wonderful memories of staying here!! Bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed having a bathtub to soak in. Highly recommend!

We experienced extreme low -40F in the last night we stay. My car cannot start. The cabin is warm and the owner kept us to stay when we were waiting for the assistance. It is a unforgettably warm experience in such a low temperature

Bucket List item checked off! I couldn't believe how proximal this cabin is to a sought-after Aurora viewing location! Literally a 7 mile or twelve minute drive to the Chena Lake Recreation Area from the property. On our first and third nights, we lucked out seeing the lights. The second night was too cloudy. I can't recommend this property enough. The owner is very kind and accommodating. I recommend the North Pole Crepery as well.

Great little cabin to base exploring the area from. Area has a bunch of great restaurants and places to visit, Nancy was super helpful providing some suggestions on what to do and was even nice enough to provide update on aurora viewing during the week. We enjoyed our time here so much. The peace and quiet was so relaxing, and only minutes away from restaurants and shopping. Nancy was informative and friendly, and has a lot of great tips on things to do in the area. House was very clean, everything provided, and check in and out was so easy. Would stay again. A Nice Home Base

I booked this cabin for my 13th wedding anniversary. From the get go, Nancy was very informative and accommodating. A very long story short, we ended up staying for two weeks instead of the original plan of one week. We used the cabin as a 'home base' while we travelled around southern Alaska. We appreciate Nancy so much in her efforts to make our stay comfortable.

Alaskan Sky Geezers

Our group are all Californians. Our sole mission was to see the Aurora Borealis, none of us had ever seen them.Nancy our host was absolutely phenomenal! She gave us so many suggestions of what to do in the area and she immediately became our new friend. The best host I’ve ever had!!The cabin is charming and extremely clean. The loft was a fun bedroom to stay in for an additional couple. They felt like kids climbing up and down the ladder!The location was perfect, less than 5 minutes to town, tucked away in the woods. Nancy the host has stocked the cabin with everything to cook with. Coffee Pot, coffee and accoutrements were provided.We were not disappointed and yes… we got to see the Aurora Borealis! It was awesome!!
