Butterfly Camp near Old Rag Mountain and Shenandoah National Park

Butterfly Camp is located on a 120-acre working farm in the heart of Madison County near Old Rag Mountain, White Oak Canyon and Shenandoah National Park.

Butterfly camp is very private, has mountain views, lots of butterflies in the native plant garden and millions of stars! Our farm offer miles of trails, cute animals (Buster Brown and his pet pig George are pictured), a farm store, farm experiences, a pond to relax by and access to our property on a stocked trout stream, located just a few miles from the main farm.

The glamping cabin (available after 9/1/2026) with a large covered porch offers a sitting area, outdoor kitchen space, and a covered solar shower stall, complete with soap and towels. Inside it has a queen size memory foam bed, all linens are included, as well as cookout camping essentials, cast iron pans, plates, cups, campfire coffee pots, and utensils. The cabin is suitable for two guests, with additional guests in tents.

The campsite offers a level tent pad, a campfire with cooking grill, small handwashing/dish sink, a table and chairs, and a changing station with a portable toilet using biobags and a solar shower during warm weather.

The cabin is pet friendly with a fee. Please note we have very strict regulations regarding other animals on our farm and all guests' pets, service animals, emotional support or any creatures that may be traveling with you, must be approved. This is a working farm, with livestock guardians, farm dogs and cats, and various livestock and poultry that can free roam.

Our farm is Certified Animal Welfare Approved and offers a small farm store, with our beef, chicken, pork, lamb, eggs and wool, as well as seasonal produce, charcuterie, plus lots of local and organic items.

Located just minutes to White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain trailheads in Shenandoah National Park plus walking distance to a brewery and winery using our farm trails and backroads.

Rental equipment, including tents, sleeping pads, camp stoves, hammocks and setup is available.
