Location and Attractions
Great kitchen and dining area designed by two former chefs. Open floor plan on the first floor allows for a fun family atmosphere. Our house sits on three lots and has a beautiful backyard under the shade of a giant weeping willow tree. Perfect for naps, sports with the kids, grilling out, and bonfires in the evening. We have 3 kayaks with paddles available for use. Lots of quiet places to sit and relax for adults. The large lots allows plenty of space for parking and trailers with boats etc. We offer free WI-FI and the house has multiple smart TVs with apps for Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu etc.

The house includes a fully stocked pantry, a chef's kitchen worth of cooking supplies and equipment, as well as brand new stainless appliances. Centrally located in the Village, guests are a block away from the Bass Lake public access, and two blocks away from Elk Lake access- perfect for walks, kayaking, and picnics. The house is walking distance to downtown, the dam for fishing, and just about every dining option in the city. Additionally, we are close to golf, the Elk Lake marina for boats, hiking, biking, kayaking, and a quick drive to Traverse City. Day trips will get you to Sleeping Bear Dunes, a Lookouts game, Mackinac Island, Turtle Creek Casino, skiing, and so many more great attractions that northern Michigan has to offer.

We had a fun time as a family on our trip. The home is perfect for what you need and the grocery across the street makes it so convenient. Elk Rapids (Veteran Memorial Park) has a beautiful beach that is perfect for young families as well as the disabled community. As a family with a child born with a rare genetic condition, it was so incredible to pull up to the closest little beach and see not just a walkway to the beach BUT A FREE SAND/WATER WHEELCHAIR! Outstanding job Elk Rapids Community! The Moering family from Indiana cannot wait to come visit again in the future! We will make sure and share this with our community and just know that it means the world to SO many of our families. Finding accommodations in our situations is really hard. Just so cool to not expect to find but be pleasantly surprised! :)

Clean, affordable, Garage!

My family enjoyed our trip. We all had our own space and the house layout was nice. The interior was clean and the extra amenities made it a very comfortable stay. The garage was a big plus to store our kayaks, bikes and car in. The only recommendations would be an exterior refresh and stone driveway so that the garage entry would not track in the sand/dirt. I definitely would return with a family or a group stay.

Great location for exploring Northern Michigan

We stayed with another senior couple with the intent of exploring and bicycling Northern MI. The accommodations, with two bedrooms on the first floor, and two baths was perfect for us. Nice big driveway and garage easily accommodated 2 trucks and our small trailer. Very short walk to excellent grocery store, winery and wonderful Ames St. Cafe. furniture was a little worn and mattresses need to be replaces as they sagged a little toward center but overall very comfortable.We never used the yard but it was very nice and had a nice fire pit and games.

Great location

The store across the street was great. I did not go however, my friends said they had everything there. Salad bar, deli, beer, wine. Beauty products-nail polish remover, under eye patches. Had a hawk hang out in the backyard one afternoon. That was entertaining. Nice place,we all said we would go back if ever in the area again.

Convenient location!

This location is great for anyone interested in Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Torch Lake, etc. Very easy to get to with grocery store and dining very close. The house was very clean and the kitchen well stocked. Pay close attention to the details in the communications from the property owners.

Fishing Trip

We had a great stay at this property, you could not ask for a better location. Grocery store & gas station are directly across the street and you're very close to all the lakes in the area. (The road you're on though is not busy & you can easily walk around). The outside of the home is deceiving at first, but the inside is nicely updated & has all the amenities you need. It was perfect for 2 adult couples and 1 child (could easily fit another kid or two). The best surprise for us was the garage- it fit both of our 25ft. bass boats easily which kept the dew off each night & our belongings extra safe. We would stay again.

Ski trip

The property was as described. it was clean, stocked with the essentials, and had enough space for our party of six. Ample parking. Our bed was comfortable. We chose it because Elk Rapids is centrally located between Traverse City, Bellaire, and Charlevoix. The hosts were very communicative and helpful, including suggesting many places and restaurants to visit in the area.

Northern Michigan Family Vacation

We spent a week here with six adults & it was great location. Right across the street from Village Market & walking distance to Ethanology. We rented a boat at Elk Rapids Marina & went to Torch Lake. We went to Mackinac Island, played golf at Elk Rapids Country Club. We enjoyed Taverse City & the Jolly Pumpkin. We ended up going to Charlevoix & Petoskey. Highly recommend for renovated interior, especially the two bathrooms and kitchen.

Elk Rapids Home

Home is right across from the grocery store. This house was very clean and spacious. No complaints other than I didn’t get responses from the owners a couple of times. I think this could be Vrbo problem and not necessarily theirs. I would stay here again.
