"The reception staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. I left my phone charger at home and they lent me one for the weekend. The room was a single and clean, although the decor was dated (the description did say it was a Victorian building). "Food is excellent and beds are very comfy. It's old-fashioned in that it's a conversion of an older building, so windows are single-glazed and the doors open with actual keys. But the rooms have everything you'd expect from a professionally run establishment. Staff are all friendly and professional though you sometimes have to seek them out – hardly surprising as there are only six rooms so they can't have someone permanently on duty."

"What a fantastic hotel. Peter and all of his staff were brilliant, nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel itself is in a brilliant position where all the tourist spots are within easy reach, wether by car,bus or even train. We had 8 nights there and 5 of them we ate in the hotel restaurant, the food is that good. Plenty of parking on site, they even have electric hook ups for caravans/mobiles. "It was a surprise trip for hubby. As we pulled up to the gates, he let out a huge WOW, I did too. The lady that greeted us and showed us around was lovely. Our room, the Nest, was beautiful as was the rest of the castle. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast and met other members of staff, they were lovely. It was like being in a fairy tale.
