Welcome to our cozy lakefront home located in East Dubuque, Il which is only minutes away from Galena, IL and Dubuque, IA. This two bedroom home with sofa sleeper sleeps six. We provide canoe's, and lifejackets. This home also has a large garage, a private deck overlooking the lake, and large yard. Other amenities include central air, comfy mattresses, all kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, Smart TVs with sound bar, and fast cable Internet. Don't miss out book now.

The house was very clean and comfortable. I loved the sliders to the deck. We had a wonderful view of the lake and we could see all the birds easily from the kitchen. The only suggestion I have is that either a sliding screen door is added or a screen that fits in the door frame. That way, you can keep the door open without letting bugs in. I definitely recommend this property for anyone who loves being close to the water. It is nice to be just over the bridge from Dubuque and the location is fantastic. Thank you!

Spring break long weekend

We had fun using the house as a comfortable place to stay while we explored some of the hiking in the area. Wish the weather would have cooperated a little more to be able to use the deck more. Thanks for nice quick get away.

50th Anniversary get-away

What an adorable lakeside home, and with all the comforts of home! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, location was perfect, loved all the wildlife right outside our door, even bald eagles and a pelican, in addition to the geese. So awesome to be able to use the canoe on a peaceful warm afternoon. Couldn't be happier we chose this home. Thank you for your hospitality and so easy to contact the owners with any questions with immediate responses!

Beautiful place

The home was clean and well appointed. Home decore was beautiful. Unfortunately, the kitchen stool seat was loose so we didnt use it. The view was stunning! Unfortunately the trains ran every few minutes. But, great place to stay!!.

Eagles fishing

So nice for a get away from stress, and worries. The hosts have thought of everything, from canoes to tooth brushes for you. Home is decorated so nice and is comfortable and clean. We will definitely rent again.

Review

The property was very clean, beds were comfortable, and home was stocked very well. Water lines on bathroom faucet were backwards and lock on patio door was upside down but both were functional. The area didn't look the best but had no issues. Pretty quiet until a train would pass but after awhile you don't notice the trains.

If Only I Could Give It One Star...

I would do that just to make sure I was the only person that could rent this property!! This was an amazing little Lake Lacoma cottage with quick access to EVERYTHING. Ten minutes from the University District in Dubuque, five minutes from the Shot Tower, Riverwalk, and Diamond Jo Casino,10 minutes from the Mines of Spain, 20 minutes from Galena, and 20 minutes from the Field of Dreams! Drove five minutes into Wisconsin, just so I could say my dogs have visited Wisconsin... This perfectly appointed cottage is absolutely adorable and as soon as you walk in, you can feel yourself relax. The only neighbors you'll see regularly are the geese that hang out by the dock. Sit on the deck and watch bald eagles fish for their supper. Enjoy s'mores around the massive firepit, with plenty of seasoned wood. I was in regular contact with the owner, who answered my texts within minutes. This place is a secret gem in Dubuque, and if I could keep it all to myself for my visits, I would. But, I'm not that selfish and I want everyone to have as incredible experience as I did.

Cute but furniture is not comfy and the bed frame broke

It's a cute place in a very nice spot. We LOVED looking out at the lake. However, the place was not clean, clean, and they used fake chemical smells to cover up the smell from the furnace (dusty, maybe mildew?). Also, the furniture was very uncomfortable. You can't use the trundle bed in the 2nd bedroom, it doesn't fit. The queen bed fell apart just trying to move it a little bit (the frame had previously been screwed together after it felt apart the first time). The fake fireplace wasn't plugged in and could only be used with an extension cord. There were also several missing kitchen things. They didn't have a cutting board, and there was no kitchen kettle. This last bit was probably a VRBO issue. When we booked it, it said it had a hot tub under the amenities. IT DOES NOT HAVE A HOT TUB. When I asked to see pictures, all of a sudden the listing doesn't say hot tub anymore. It was on there, all 3 adults who looked at it saw it said hot tub on the list of amenities. VRBO wouldn't refund us any money due to false advertising on their site. DOULBE CHECK and contact the owner if you need a hot tub, a kettle, an actual bed that trundles, etc BEFORE you book with VRBO, they don't care if the owner lies to you, they won't do anything about it. Maybe don't ask me to review again?? :)

Great getaway!

This was a great house for my husband and I to stay for a weekend! Beautiful interior with cute home decor and stocked kitchen and bathroom! Great layout including a deck with a great view of the lake! Super quick drive into Dubuque! Definitely recommend!
