"The Stromness Hotel is ideally suited for access to the travel centre, and has great views of the port from the front rooms. While the hotel itself is a little dated, the rooms are sizeable and comfy, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful."

"The Ferry Inn is a combination hotel/pub with breakfast included on our booking. We ate dinner both nights in the pub restaurant. The food was good & they had several choices for each course. The location was excellent for the Scrabaster/Stromness ferry & it was easy to navigate to Kirkwall & all the sights."

"Nice room, loved the custard cream biscuits.
Overall very comfortable bed, clean and well presented. I would suggest blackout curtains might work better.
Food and was lovely, restaurant gets busy so reservation was required, but would recommend it. Staff were nice and attentive. "

"We had a lovely time at The Royal Hotel. The staff were all very nice and chatty. The breakfasts were amazing and the room was very comfortable. We would highly recommend The Royal Hotel to anybody planning a visit to Stromness. "

"Good location in the centre of Stromness, OK for a short stopover, no meals on site but some availability at the partner Ferry Inn just along the road. Fairly limited eating places in the area."
