  • We had a great ride on the Durango & Silverton Railroad. Lots of snow melt and some whitewater rapids that were off the scale. Several avalanches have occurred near train lines this Spring. We stopped for a couple hours in Silverton for quick bite to eat and shop. Silverton, CO reminded us of our recent inner passage cruise that stopped in Skagway, Alaska.

This house was great! We all liked the foosball table, table tennis, and cornhole games at the home. The hot tub was perfect and had great views of the red rock cliffs behind the house. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook our own meals and the gas grill on the patio made for easy grilling.The fire pit was epic and we had fun making smores and staying warm while enjoying the views.The host was responsive and welcoming and there were no problems with the property at all.We're looking forward to returning next year.

We had a couple of minor issues that came up while staying, but Sarah was absolutely amazing with communicating and getting everything fixed asap! The house had a beautiful view, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Sarah!

I loved this house for our stay in Durango! I wanted to stay longer. My kids enjoyed all the games at the house. I loved how it was just outside the city but still close enough and there are some trails to explore right behind the house. Such a great house for a family to relax and have fun in Durango!

An inviting mountain country setting just minutes from town

I do not believe we could have made a better choice. A rustic ranch feel with more amenities than we needed and EVERYTHING (the mechanicals) worked nicely and exceeded expectations

Excellent Vacation Home

Beautiful home backed up to the Red cliffs of Durango, very peaceful and family oriented! Snow was everywhere so the sights were amazing. Definitely recommend Sarah as a host and she will make sure you have everything you need ! Hope to return !

Mountain getaway

Warm and welcoming hosts. The location was secluded and backed up to beautiful red rocks and hiking trails. It was in short proximity to the hot springs and downtown. The home provided all essentials for human and dog guests :-). Would stay again!

Great for people with kids

The drawback for us was that there wasn't a third bedroom with a double/queen/king bed which was key for us. There is only a master and a kids wreck/bunk room so it is good for a couple with a bunch of kids. Plenty of space, not too far from town, scenic neighborhood, nice host on site. Hot tub easy to access/use. Coffee bar a nice touch. Would not say "luxurious" as a lot of things were builder grade and a bit worn (towels, bedding). Suggesting host provide or you you bring along: creamer/milk for coffee and kleenex. Was a little put off by the request to run the DW and laundry on top of a $150 cleaning fee. That starts to feel a little too much like being home;) We are tidy and only there to sleep so not much to pick up.

Great Fall-getaway stay

This property, from the location to the extra amenities (games, foosball table, hot tub, coffee station to name a few) made our trip to SW CO perfect for our family of 3 (1 child). They even had a scavenger hunt for my son when we arrived that led him to a local treat! We've declared this our favorite VRBO in Durango. The property is beautiful, easily accessible to town and to 550, but tucked in the canyon. We had everything we needed here and more!

Durango

Great location. Very peaceful area but close enough to town. House was very clean, kitchen and bathrooms are well supplied. Clean hot tub and plenty of things to keeep kids busy. Everything was as seen in owners photos. Durango has great places to eat and shop. Great hiking, beautiful views and great drives to places Silverton, Ouray and Telluride. Sarah is a very friendly and helpful host.

Summer family vacation

This house was great for our family of 4! Convenient location, beautiful views and nice back area with a deck, hot tub, & fire pit. The kids were very entertained with foosball, corn hole, ping pong, & hockey and they loved staying in the bunk room. The host was very friendly & responsive. They had a scavenger hunt ready for the kids when we arrived which was a fun, thoughtful touch. We felt like we were at home away from home & would highly recommend staying here. During our trip, we went white water rafting, ziplining, rode the Durango-Silverton train, visited Mesa Verde National Park, shopped downtown Durango, & spent a day at Purgatory Resort (multiple activities for kids & breathtaking views)

Family Friendly

If you are either a family or a couple, this place is great. Backs up to the woods, with a fire pit next to the hot tub! We came with our kids, and the host had a surprise scavenger hunt and treats for the kids, so thoughtful! We were completely satisfied with our host an her VRBO, and would stay again without reservation! Bring your book, the backyard backs up to a beautiful land and hills covered with trees. We drank coffee on the deck every morning, visited the Durango Hot Springs, hike around Haviland lake, fished the Dolores and Animas rivers and strolled downtown Durango and spent way too much! The rains came one afternoon and cooled us off. We like the Mexican food down at Machos. Don't try the all you can eat nachos challenge, you'll never win, but we sure tried! Our host is nice and so is this place. Stay and you won't be dissatisfied!

Great house in a great location

We stayed 2 days in Durango to experience the Durango/Silverton train. This house was wonderful; quiet; and has a fantastic view while sitting on the back deck. It was well appointed and really is a great place for families with kids. It was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable which can be hard to find in rentals! The short drive into town was super easy. I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Durango!!

Perfect for families!

Plenty of activities for the kiddos from the moment you pull in the driveway! Sarah had a scavenger hunt set up for the kids, a sample of local beverages for the adults, and the property is filled with non stop options for everyone. There is even a quick hike in the "backyard" if you are up for some family friendly exploring. *Only thing I could not find was a blender, but this is a personal preference for protein shakes. I am almost positive Sarah would have immediately accommodated if I would have asked. (She was great!) I am only noting to others who may want to pack a portable one if desired.

Perfect In Every Way

Perfect in every way: from the online booking to our last day! The location is beautiful! The host, Sarah, is extremely accommodating and helpful. She has decorated & stocked the house with everything you’ll need! The kitchen, bedrooms & bathrooms were very user-friendly & comfortable. We enjoyed the back patio & fire pit, with the beautiful red rock backdrop. We didn’t have a chance to use the hot tub, but it sure looked inviting! We could feel how much care & attention was put into every detail. Thank you, Sarah & Family, for a wonderful experience! Our family will be back!!
