Painted Sky at Tamarron Resort (Gambel Oak #745) is our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom fully remodeled condo featuring a fully updated kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, custom gas fireplace, and private deck with views of the Glacier golf course. Wifi speeds are appx 100+ mbps. Our Tamarron rental guests can play Glacier's 18-hole Valley Course at an exclusive discounted rate. Details will be provided in your rental instructions.

Modern meets rustic in this fabulous newly remodeled condo! Great sunrise "painted sky" views from large back deck facing East, quiet end unit location. A few stairs lead up to this 1st floor condo. There are 2 full baths, one with a tub/ shower and the other with large full shower, a large living space with fireplace, gourmet kitchen, and Washer / Dryer in the townhome.

WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP:
* 1 King Bed in Loft with TV (2nd level)
* 3 Twin Beds in Cubby Bedroom with access from the Loft sleeping area (2nd Level)
* King Sleeper sofa in living room (main level)

ON-SITE AMENITIES AT THE LODGE INCLUDE: indoor pool, outdoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam shower, fitness center, golf at a special discounted rate, tennis, pickleball, playground, 3 on-site restaurants, and event center. There is an EV Charging Station available for guest use in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot, adjacent to the Tamarron Lodge. Our Tamarron rental guests can play Glacier's 18-hole Valley Course at an exclusive discounted rate. Details will be provided in your rental instructions. There is a $20 per person ski shuttle to purgatory on weekends - tickets must be purchased in advance and the pick-up location is in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot.

LOCATION: Tamarron sits at around 7800 feet in elevation and is just 10 minutes south of Purgatory Ski Resort and 20 minutes north of downtown Durango. Many guests stay here to visit Purgatory Ski Resort, which offers a variety of restaurants, winter and summer activities, and festivals/events.

Trailers are discouraged as there is very limited, designated space to park trailers - if you plan to bring one, please inquire first.
AWD or 4WD is recommended in Winter (Dec-Mar).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding, etc) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, etc) activities.

We had a nice stay. The location is not as kid friendly as we hoped but they had a good time at the pool. Our washing machine leaked water every time we ran it. Notified the management. They said they would send someone to fix it while we were gone. Not sure if they ever did. No follow up and it still leaked.

Good stay, but some things to know

My family and I stayed at this condo for 8 nights and overall I'd rate the stay as good, but definitely not great. The condo is in a great location, is well furnished, and offers numerous amenities. There are a few things, however, that I feel future renters may want to know before reserving this unit. When we arrived the condo was as advertised and is actually much larger than it looks in the pictures. It has been totally renovated and is really cozy and well-decorated. The pools and restaurants are great and overall the Tamarron Lodge Community is a wonderful place. Our experience here was mostly positive but I felt like we were constantly having to deal with small annoyances. To corroborate what another guest stated in their review, if you are looking for privacy and seclusion, this is not the place to stay. The condo sits in a back corner of Gambel Oak where all of the units are essentially right on top of each other. Everywhere you look you will see people morning, noon, and night. Another issue we had from Day 1 was horrible plumbing. The kitchen sink and the upstairs toilet would back up, and the upstairs tub never drained properly. We had to have maintenance come out twice to address these issues. Also, the upstairs bathroom never stopped smelling of sewer gas which stunk up the entire upstairs at times. We had to leave that bathroom vent fan on and the door closed the entire stay. Finally, the last issue we had, and probably a deal breaker had I known about it was the adjoining door in the master suite that I didn't seem to notice in any of the pictures. The condo next door (744) that is a second floor unit only, has an adjoining door that stays locked but connects directly to your master suite just like you would see in a hotel. This door is right off your neighbors' front door so you will here everybody coming in and out of their condo and they will hear you in your master bedroom. To make matters worse, your neighbors' unit has a very loud stereo system with deep bass that resonates into your master bedroom through the adjoining door area. As soon as your neighbor turns on their TV you WILL hear whatever they are watching. Overall, we had a great week and enjoyed visiting the Durango area. This condo had its' issues but I think it is still a good option for most.

Beautiful location, fantastic amenities

This property is is close enough to Durango to spend time sightseeing in town, but far enough to feel you can fully enjoy the beautiful landscape of the region. For our purposes, it was conveniently located close to Purgatory Ski Resort, which was an easy drive from the condo. The site even offers a shuttle to the ski resort. Tamarron had great amenities, including heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, gym, and on-site dining that we were able to enjoy with the whole family. The views from the back deck of this condo are breathtaking. We had a very enjoyable weekend, and would love to stay there again!

Nice, quiet, close to town

The unit appears to have been remodeled and updated recently. Very clean and upscale unit. Location was awesome - morning coffee on the balcony watching the sun come up over the mountains was a wonderful way to start everyday. Easy trip into Durango and Purgatory - centrally located to Silverton, Vallecito Lake, Mesa Verde, river rafting, etc.

Great Place!!

Wonderful view. Spacious. In-between town and Purgatory. PJ's grocery store is 10 minutes away. The kids bedroom sits right off the master. I think it might have been a master closet modified to bunk beds. Fireplace is VERY temperamental until it gets warmed up. I think when it's cold the gas flow is not consistent which triggers it off. You have to play with the manual switch until it gets going.

Wish I was back there

The property is gorgeous. I’m ocd and research hours and hours for the perfect property. This was amazing. So clean, beautifully decorated. Towels were nice and plush, master bed was comfy and cozy. My son loved his bunk room and slept in a different bed every night. Bunks each have little reading light for them, which is a nice touch. The one thing I didn’t expect was that the bunk room is in loft with master bedroom w sliding door... so you know, very close ;) The view is exactly as shown, the living room is so Colorado cozy and fireplace is gorgeous and puts out a lot of heat. We went to pools/hot tub most nights and it was very relaxing. Def will be telling friends and fam at this specific property.

Missing it already

Our stay at Tamarron was wonderful. The condo was very comfortable and clean. We spent many hours on the patio enjoying the view - it was incredibly peaceful out there. The kitchen was also great - we cooked dinner most nights. And we slept great too - bed was very comfy!

Wonderful condo with mountain view

Great property and perfect for a family of five. We loved the large open living area and spacious kitchen. Close to Silverton, Durango and a reasonable drive to Mesa Verde. The beds were great and the location very quiet with a great deck to enjoy the view. Would stay here again for sure!
