  • Welcome to our property located in a quiet residential area of Pitcorthie in Dunfermline. The Royal Burgh of Dunfermline is of considerable historic interest and is the resting place of King Robert the Bruce. Carnegie's Birthplace museum, the Abbey and Abbot House reflect the historic interest of the City, whilst recent developments have seen Dunfermline move into the modern era with Carnegie Museum and Library. Dunfermline is located approximately five miles from the Forth Road bridges/ Queensferry Crossing and is therefore particularly popular with commuters to Edinburgh and many parts of the central belt with easy access to the M90 motorway with its direct links to Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee and across the Kincardine Bridge by way of motorways to Stirling, Glasgow and the West. It benefits from a full range of shops, social and leisure facilities and educational establishments associated with a modern City. The local railway stations provide a regular service to Edinburgh with intercity links to other parts of the UK. There are regular and convenient bus services both local and national.

This is a really cute little flat. It had everything we needed. One bedroom and a really nice modern bathroom. The kitchenette was well stocked and the hosts stocked the fridge with food for our first breakfast. We drove to the Tesco, but we could have walked. The yard is well kept and the neighbour is very friendly. We loved our stay here. It is beneficial if you have a car. They do have a convenient parking spot and driveway.

Pros-comfortable bed, private garden area, nicely updated kitchen and bathroom and central location Cons-uncomfortable couch, wobbly table and only 2 towels provided for 8 nights. Had to buy an entire box of laundry soap as host didn't provide any (left for next traveler). This has been provided at every previous vrbo in north america and Scotland

Great place. It was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was nice. Communication was great. Andrea quickly responded and helped us navigate our way around the town. Nice and quiet too!

We really enjoyed our stay, the property had everything we needed, just as advertised. John and Andrea were very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend.

All aspects of this lovely property (including a free on-site parking spot) are as advertised. This clean, comfortable apartment in a quiet, family-driven neighbourhood offers a good home base for exploring Edinburgh via public transport (Stagecoach, Scotrail). Instructions are clear and concise, just right for a short-term renter to understand and treat the property well. If you plan to cook, check for the available pots, pans, or other utensils as well as space in the mini-fridge and plan your menus accordingly. The hosts have organized a quiet, clean, and affordable space with many features to keep guests comfortable.

Lovely modern property, well presented

Overall, the property was spotlessly clean, bright and modern. Communication with the hosts was excellent. As to minor niggles (and they were minor); there was no draining board for the sink, which made washing the dishes awkward. There was no direct access from the house to the enclosed garden; I had to put the dog on the lead to go there (which is a pain first thing in the morning)

Sweet little house

Had a lovely stay at this sweet little house. In a quiet residential area, but an easy 25 minute walk into the historic area ( Carnegie birthplace museum, and the Abbey are must sees in this town, as is the beautiful park). The house was spotless. Clean as a whistle! Very nicely furnished and equipped, and comfortable. We didn’t use the deck, but there is a great area to the side of the house if you want to sit outdoors. And a washing machine in the cupboard under the stairs.. very useful if you are on a longer trip and need to do laundry. The hosts were extremely responsive to all communication and clearly want their guests to have an enjoyable stay. This is also a convenient location for anyone flying out of Edinburgh airport ( if you have a car). A very easy 25 minute drive from the house to the rental car drop off. We would definitely recommend this property

Absolut weiterzuempfehlen

Kleine Doppelhaushälfte mit sehr hochwertiger Ausstattung. Gastgeber sehr bemüht und überaus freundlich, gab sogar einen kleinen Willkommensgruß. Absolut zu empfehlen. Aufgrund Verkehrsaufkommen ca. 45 Minuten nach Edinburgh Zentrum. Ein großes Danke an John und Andrea

Absolutely perfect wee stay.

Brilliant property, very clean and beyond everything you’d need. Owners were amazing - before recommending places to go and during checking all was OK. Neighbour was a wee gem as well, putting out bins and checking in when we said hi. Really central location for lots of things. We were dog training but then went on amazing adventures around the Fife coast. Shame there’s only 5 stars to give as definitely would give it 5+
