This place looks terrific inside and out. Rooms and public areas are tastefully furnished and decorated to a very high standard. A fantastic mixture of modern touches and traditional materials. Amazing attention to detail in everything. Delicious breakfast.

Relaxing trip through Scotland

Charming hotel at the edge of town in a quiet neighbourhood. Great breakfast and some restaurants nearby, we had a very large and comfortable room

Very cold room.

I checked into this hotel late on a Saturday afternoon. It was a very cold January day. I paid for a superior room in the main building, up several flights of stairs and a very steep narrow staircase, there is no lift. The room was up in the attic under the eves. The room was freezing as the heating had been turned off. I managed to turn the radiator in the bathroom and the single one in the large room on, to little effect. I was suffering from a very bad cold so was looking forward to being tucked up in a warm room. When the receptionist happen to knock on my door I asked him if he could do anything about the freezing room. He tried to bleed the radiators with a screwdriver. This had little effect and at 7pm the heating went off entirely and never came back on again. I spent a bitterly cold night in an attic room. The hotel had minimal staff. They also cancelled all evening meal service, which was a great disappointment as I was not feeling well enough to go out again. Check out is very early at 10am although they offered me a later check out at £10 per hour extra. As I had already paid £108 for a freezing room I left as early as I could the next morning. I am sure in the summer months this hotel is pleasant. It seemed very attractive on their website. It appeared very understaffed. I did not see anyone attending the reception desk or the bar whilst I was there. I was really looking forward to my stay and an evening meal at the hotel. Sadly I was greatly disappointed.

Lovely setting and property. Room very cold though and breakfast cereal and fruit choices bit limited (no muesli). Stairs up to upper kevel very steep and paintwork on that stairwell tired.

We really enjoyed another stay at The Taypark. Staff were really nice especially Paige who served at the gin bar. Was slightly disappointed that our room was cleaned because we forgot to put sign showing. Again Paige sorted it for us!. Shes a little Ray of sunshine in This hotel. Will. Definitely be returning.

Taypark was gorgeous. The room, the whole building, and grounds. We continued to tour Scotland and the dinner we had was by far the best food we had all month! Wonderful staff and a great place to stay!

Perfect family getaway

Fabulous hotel set in lovely grounds with fantastic views and just 5 minutes drive Fon Dundee centre. Had 4 rooms which were all different and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and the staff extremely helpful and accommodating. The bar/lounge perfect for our family gatherings in the evening. Didn't eat in the restaurant this time but well on our next visit as we will definately be returning.

Beautiful property with excellent service, comfort

Our stay was delightful from the beginning. Our check in was friendly, warm and welcoming. I had booked two rooms and they were both extremely clean, well appointed, recently updated and in general as nice as you could want. A very spacious room with a very comfortable bed and nice linens. The bathroom was modern and nicely appointed. Parking is onsite and very easy. The restaurant at Taypark House is excellent. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel both nights we stayed and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was also very good and it was a great way to start the day. The gin bar was also a very nice addition to the hotel. I would highly recommend the Taypark to anyone traveling as it had the most wonderful staff, great rooms and exceptional food.

Lovely little find

Staff cannot do enough to make your stay special and enjoyable. If you book for business ensure you have 45 minutes free for breakfast. The food is cooked fresh so allow for this and the morning staff on our stay were certainly not in a rush. Rooms were gorgeous

The Taypark House has such a lovely decore and warm feeling. Art placement and furniture are excellent. The Gin Bar is done very well, the food in the restaurants is 5 Star along without standing service. I highly recommend this property.

A beautiful property! We stayed in one of the smaller garden apartments. It was clean and well appointed with a spacious bathroom. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both were delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Not really for travelling workman

Very comfortable bed big bathroom had a good nights sleep,felt a bit out off place as a travelling worker more for upper classes, breakfast was ok but wasnt asked or offered toast felt like the guy who served me was looking down his nose at me very uncomfortable feeling ate my food and got out quickly.
