  • Completely remodeled and upgraded cozy cottage on 2.25 acres in the Arapaho National Forest. There's a cute little bonus shed for private, late-night conversations or a "getaway from your getaway". Relax with 360 degree mountain views and a creek flowing right through the property!

    Start hiking or climbing right out your door, or on any of the trails in this small, private community. Located between Idaho Springs and Georgetown, there are nearby breweries, restaurants, and unique shops, as well as skiing, hiking, biking, ziplining, and more. (15% "Chickadee" discount exclusively for our guests at Mountain Mamas' Needful Things in Georgetown).

    Also nearby … fox, coyote, bear, elk, deer, moose, bighorn sheep, pine marten, AND MORE.

    We have fast Wi-Fi for streaming, as well as a large collection of ~150 DVDs for your viewing pleasure.

The location was perfect for what we were looking for. The location is great if you want to stay in the mountains and go to a concert at Red Rock. An amazing location for getting to hiking trails.

This was the cutest space for a getaway weekend! Everything was clean and well maintained and the property and surrounding trails were beautiful. I’ll definitely be back!

Perfect location in the park, close to local towns, yet away from the traffic, noise and stress of the city. We saw hummingbirds from our back door and slept so well, it was difficult to leave. The host thought of everything you could need, but may have forgotten to bring. Would definitely return any time of the year!

This is 3rd time staying at the Chickadee, and it was just as pleasant as the others. We love how cozy it is; perfect jumping off point for a few days skiing at Loveland. We'll be back next year.

We are already planning our next visit to this beautiful location. It was even nicer than the pictures indicated, with plenty of room, a kitchen, fully stocked with all the pots and pans and dishes we needed, comfortable furniture, and lovely outdoor sitting spaces. The nearby stream and the wind in the aspens only added to the magic of this place. It feels very remote, but is close to Idaho Springs, Georgetown, and many other locations. Our host was fantastic, and very responsive when I had a question. We wouldn’t have changed one thing about our stay, except staying longer…

This place was the peace and beauty we were looking for. It was close enough to everything that we did, while being far enough away from everyone to enjoy peace and quiet. The property was amazing and had everything we needed, and more!

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is so cute and every detail is great. The style of the interior is so charming and the setting is beautiful. I especially loved the sounds of the creek nearby. We found it to be a great rental with our toddler as well.
