"The staff were very accommodating and the room was lovely. HOWEVER, as in so many hotels, the lighting is more decorative than functional. The closets are the size of a postage stamp and the bathroom is barely big enough to turn around in. It is an old, historic hotel, and it’s possible that city codes prevent modernization. There are many other hotels in that location where you would probably get more bang for your buck. "

"This hotel is beautiful - from the architecture, lobby, outdoor spaces, to the rooms. Our hotel room was spacious with lovely furnishings. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I especially loved having the delicious croissants, pastries and coffee delivered to our room each morning and the wine and cheese/crackers happy hour each day. It is also very walkable - to shops, restaurants, bars, the fountain, waterfront. We wandered the streets looking at all the beautiful century homes. ...
